Well, I guess WD has his excuse to bench McCann for the next game.

Love it! Burrows with the excuse me goal and Miller with the poke check. Great win. 5-6 points. Not a bad start.

Wow, didn't see that coming tonight. Canucks were full value for at least a point, an even game - slight edge to Anaheim at times, but they didn't dominate us as they have in past years - and we could have had the win in OT. Nice start to the season, but still, can we get Virtanen in there in place of Prust, seriously.

Good win!

Agreed, Nucks dominated in OT, Anaheim couldn't even establish a serious power play when 4 on 3. If it were not for that penalty, I think we might have won in that format already, but Miller did a great job in the shootout, so we win anyway.

Good win!

Prust had another good game. Assisted on the Cracknell goal and set McCann up all alone for a clear shot. He was hitting all night and the 4th line was our most consistent. Don't get the Prust hate. The way LA plays you really want to take Prust out? If anything take McCann out and jig the lines to get Virtanen in.

Does Miller start? My vote, yes.

You'd think at some point both McCann and Virtanen would be in the lineup at the same time. If it's only ever one or the other then they'll never experience the rigor of an NHL schedule.

My guess is that Virtanen comes in for a few games and then, if neither gets sent down, they'll both get to play. No point sitting in the press box during your evaluation period. At that point the decision about who sits becomes difficult, but I agree with uk that you can't remove Baertschi if you want a good environment for the kids to grow. If after 9 games they both stay, then a trade will be in the offing.

I think Anaheim was trying to get too cute on that PP. All the spin moves and the like. Chancy passes going for the perfect play.

Great PK by the Canucks, though. Didn't let them do anything.
