True dat. Teams that go deep into the playoffs generally have 4 lines that can play, solid 6 D-men and solid goaltending. We lost Kassassian and Hammer and haven't missed a beat. This is a good sign for us. The years previous, it would of devasted us.

It was widely agreed that the Sedins are not top superstars anymore, but they can still be effective if they get help (ie: secondary scoring). While Bones-Higgy-Burr have provided that at times, who would of thought that it would come from our bottom 6 to this extent? Especially the likes of Matthias, Richie Rich, Vey and Hansen.

This has been brought up a few times now. In fairness, Hamhius (not unlike last year) was off to a poor start this year and hasn't had nearly the impact we're used to seeing from him. Even pre knee injury, Kassian has been a pedestrian on most nights he has played.

I don't think it is so much Hamhuis' contributions, but just the minutes he eats.....and he's generally reliable defensively too.

I would have expected Hammer's injury to disrupt the team more than it has (though I agree, he was off to a poor start this season), but thankfully Edler has really picked up his game this season, which is nice to see. As for Kass, love the guy, but the only thing he seems to put any effort into is getting his bucket knocked off. The line up is more effective without him in it, imo.

Kassian becomes important down the stretch and into the playoffs, when big bodies are needed. Vey has found a home right now but hard to see him being able to match up in the playoffs. Although I will take a wait and see approach.
The only HW the Canucks need
