Canucks commence 7 game in 12 night road trip in Columbus versus a struggling Blue Jacket team...a real opportunity to get the roadie off on a positive note

CANUCKS (15-6-1) AT BLUE JACKETS (6-13-2)

Season series: The Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets split two games last season with each team winning at home.

Canucks team scope: Following a 2-0 win against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday at Rogers Arena, Vancouver begins a season-high seven-game, 12-day road trip. The Canucks are 8-3-0 on the road having won five of their past six. "It's going to be a tough trip," coach Willie Desjardins told the Canucks website after the game Tuesday. "Every game is a game that's going to be a battle and we have to make sure that we have energy every night." Forward Jannik Hansen has five goals in his past four games. Forward Radim Vrbata had a three-game goal-scoring streak snapped Tuesday. Left wing Tom Sestito (leg) and defenseman Dan Hamhuis (lower body) are injured.

Blue Jackets team scope: Columbus lost to the Winnipeg Jets 4-2 on Tuesday, its fourth straight. The Blue Jackets have lost 13 of their past 15 games including six of seven at Nationwide Arena. Forward Nick Foligno has 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 11 games. The Blue Jackets are connecting on 23.2 percent of their power-play opportunities but have scored on two of their past 13. Forward Brandon Dubinsky, who hasn't played this season because of an abdominal injury, skated at practice Wednesday, though a return date is unknown. "Today is the best I've felt. These last few days, I’ve started to turn the corner. I felt pretty good today," Dubinsky told The Columbus Dispatch. The Blue Jackets are without forward Mark Letestu (groin) and defensemen Ryan Murray (knee), Cody Goloubef (knee) and Fedor Tyutin (lower body).

Columbus is bound to turn it around, just hope it's not tonight.

Should be a pretty good trip. Lots of winnable games in there (although it feels like we always lose to the Wings, and it's an afternoon start...yuck).

Wasn't Columbus the beginning of the crash and burn that was last season?

Hoping the team keeps up the good consistent play and lays the smack down on the bottom dwellers.

Yeah, sorry bout that. Just had this feeling of déjà vu. Thankfully, pretty sure the hockey gods have better things to do than track my penchant towards cynicism.

There was a time when we feasted on the East. Tonight we get back to that. Domination of the East, that road starts in Columbus and ends in Montreal. 0-7 baby on this road trip. Think big or move to Edmonton.

Miller with another SO. The twins feast tonight. Bo with a four point night. Burrows with three. All four lines score. All defencemen get at least a point. Blow out in Columbus.

Or, we win another 1 goal game. Either way I see a win tonight. Vey will play big on a line with Matthias and Richardson redeeming himself I'm my eyes. Or not, since Jensen was recalled today maybe he plays on the third line, or move Higgins or Burrows down and put Jensen on the second line, or he is a scratch and gets into another game on this trip or.....

Dorsett the new twin. Not a bad audition with Hank and Vrbata.

Not bad at all. When I saw him out there with them I thought for sure he was going out there to beat the shit out of someone for that sandwich play on Daniel. Impressive shift, nonetheless!

Daniel back just in time for a 4on4.

Not sure if it's been mentioned (I had the volume off for awhile) but Dorsett still lives in Columbus in the off-season.

Playing in front of friends + old fans = classy thing for WD to do...

We owned the first five minutes but since then we have looked disorganized and way out of sync. Several long shifts lost in our own zone. We need to settle down and get this game back.
