Those initial shots were low and hard off the pads, exactly the shots you make to generate a rebound. Vancouver does it all the time. No one was near Turris on the second Ottawa goal and Tanev didn't make it to Stone on the third goal.
The play was definitely score on the rebound for the Turris/Stone goal, but with the defenders in close (Hamhuis on Turris,Weber on Stone)it's pretty tough to defend at the speed the play happened.

I believe that the second goal was part of Miller's fault. He should have kept the puck and allowed the guys for a line change instead of making a long pass. Within seconds, the Sens re-entered the zone. The Canucks line was exhausted and eventually the Sens scored.

It was Weber not Tanev.

Miller definitely did not have his A game last night.

Weber, yes, I stand corrected.

Meh.

Miller was, is and will be the least of this teams concerns.

May as well fret about ads on jerseys.
A different goddamn hockey talk messageboard!

There is no question that all three goals came off turn overs, plays where we had clear possession and failed to either freeze the puck or get it out of the zone. I mentioned that early on in the the thread. My point re Miller was that two goals were uncharacteristic of him, he gave up two juicy rebounds that both resulted in goals. It wasn't meant to trash Miller, just pointing out where I saw some deficiencies in our game. We almost beat ourselves on a few bad plays, other than that Ottawa didn't get a sniff.

I was impressed with our overall effort. And as things stand right now I am firmly on board with Bennng's decision to sign Miller. I wanted to see a tandem of Lack and Markstrom but I am now glad we have Miller. The first part of the season has been a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

But playing three rookies on the 4th hampers our ability to toll four lines evenly and effectively. If we still have 3 forwards out Friday I hope there is a change.
The only HW the Canucks need
