Yeah, maybe. They do have some big skilled guys that give our defenders lots of problems usually though. When I think of the sharks, I always think of this play.

Kes who? Boy, Bones continues to play well. He's playing like an elite 2nd line centre. U give him some open ice and he has a knack of snapping the puck into the corner. I was really impressed by the way he took a bad pass and then skated around the defender by doing a half circle on his skates. Wow!

He keeps this up and he may be the future 1st line centre to take over the reigns from Hank.
Five to Ten years from now the Sedins will fall from the first line. They will then go to the second line. .Two years later they will go to our third line....they will always be Canucks!!!!!

With their style of play, not relying on speed or heavy body physics, just by their awareness and sense for the game, they should be able to play 'til their mid-forties like Jaromir Jagr. 8-)

A few comments;
Every once in a while a goaltender needs to steal one. Miller just jumped to #1 on the SJPD's Most Wanted List. Big difference between he and the #1 Panther is the way they play the short side, Lu always cheated a bit to the middle to take away the far side, very difficult to beat Miller short side and he uses his stick more to take away the far side by going after the cross ice pass........Oh, and Miller's glove works.

Wow, is San Jose fast. I pvr'd the game and it clocked in at 43 minutes.

Is there any truth to the rumour that Kassian's lower body injury is his head stuck in his ass.

Desjardins was in a tough spot with the line up trying to shelter Horvat as he is eased in and trying to find effective line mates for Vey. Odd that when Verbata was out for a few shifts, Hansen and Vey took his spot instead of Burrows being moved up.

While being eased in, Horvat is doing a decent job. He needs work on his defensive zone positioning as he often occupies the same space as one of his defenders. With some practice time, film time and communication he'll learn where his responsibilities are.

While Bonino's shot is raved about, how about his decision to protect the puck and wheel around the sprawling, albeit stickless defender?

.....and what about Verbata's shot.

I'm beginning to realize we're going to have to live with the good and the stupid with Dorsett. His fight was purposeful to spark the team and worked. It was the wake up call his team mates needed. It was as though they were resigned to a bad trip through California. Then he took yet another costly stupid penalty.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I think part of WD's strategy is to not disturb all the lines. By that I mean if he has to sub in for a Vrbata he doesn't want to break up the second or third lines because they are playing so well. So Hansen gets the shift to the top line. The easy answer is to move Burrows back up but the you have both the first and second lines mixed up. He did the same thing during the Burrows suspension. It was Vey and Hansen that got the chance to play up. He didn't want to disrupt the chemistry of the third line.

WD isn't trying to create an uber first, he is trying to create balance in four lines in order to play a four line game. Now if it is a long term injury then I think you look for a long term solution, like moving Burrows back with the twins, or calling up Jensen, like they did today.
The only HW the Canucks need

Couldn't agree more.

I don't usually rant about the reffing (that's wifey's job).

But I was rather steamed last night.

No way should the Sharks have had four power plays to Canucks' one.

You've gotta love the heart this team is showing.

And it's nice to have a few guys who can put the biscuit in the basket at key times.

Nice having Cool Hand Miller over Panic Attack Schneider.

Hello?

You play to win the game.

We just happened to win.

What's wrong with that?

So, let's not get it twisted and say, 'We were lucky.'

We didn't get lucky.

We won.
