Nucks had some nice jump @ the beginning of the game, even got a 2-0 lead, but the Hawks turned it up in the 2nd and we had no answer. It was pretty much game over after that.

Not much to be positive about that game, but I liked what I saw out of Stanton, he looks really solid and I hope he gets better. Hopefully another Tanev type player. Right now, I know it's kind of selfish, but I hope Hank doesn't get healthy in time to play in the olympics. Most of our guys could use the time off, get refreshed, get healthy and get ready for the final stretch and battle to hold that last playoff spot.

I love them.
2-0 and your mouth is shut. (well, except for breathing)
Ha, it's 2 buzz when I enter my underground parking. It's 2-2 when I turn the TV on upstairs.

This team has been choking up leads and getting pounded all season.

They've lost 12 out of 14 playoff games going back THREE YEARS.

This is not a slump.
Hold on, are we talking about tonight or 2011? Or is this about your underground parking?

I hear the Oilers have turned a corner, I'll buy you a jersey.

Sullivan:
.

The canucks `top` 2 lines were bagged before the game was half over. The 4th line had jump. Even the 3rd line showed signs of life. Yet Sullivan continued to push the top 2 lines.

The break can't come soon enough
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

I turned it off when it was 3-2. Could see right there we were done.

Crawford, and Toews, made some great saves I see. What could have been had no business being.

It is really a little scary right now if MG is deluded and try a few quick fixes. Just play out the season and work on moving some core, injecting youth and giving the Sedins some fucking support. Without it they are invisible.

Come on man. This team has won 4 of its last 14 and you're telling me this isn't a slump? This is just this team's true colours, and a President's trophy, an 8th overall finish and a 10-1-2 finish in December were all just fantastical illusions?

(Those are of course things that have happened in the last 2.5 years, if you want to go back to THREE YEARS ago you probably need to include the spring of 2011 which I mean, yeah.)

The truth is pretty clearly somewhere in between but if you're seriously trying to claim this team is not slumping then I'd suggest that you either don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about, or that you've sided so firmly with the RoyalDude/Pauser set that you're saying things you don't really believe (I'd guess the latter because I don't take you for a moron)..

No doubt this team is bad compared to what we've seen in the last five years but they are missing 2 of their top 3 centres right now on top of that and if you don't think it's skewing the results I just.. I don't even know what to say.

What are you even on about anymore, Dude? Don't quote me unless you're prepared to read and respond to what was actually in the post you clicked.. it's the least you could do, nevermind making the effort to recall what people have posted in the past (and been posting for months).

A more rational take on the game after having slept on it.....

Luongo is still a top 5 goaltender in this league when on his game. He's top 10 regardless. In the first period he was all-world. In the second period he was still VERY GOOD with the exception of perhaps the 4th goal.

Burrows is lost out there offensively without Hank. It's his first year with a big contract though, and major drop offs in play and a year riddled with bad luck is not uncommon for players in that situation, for some reason. His drop off has been catastrophic, but all the same.

The only way Kesler is a first line center is if he has first line wingers. That being said, he is still playing very well and actually had a good game last night. The way he walked around Keith was beautiful to watch. His hit on Oduya was huge.

Garrison is playing with absolutely zero confidence right now, and he's useless to us on the PP currently. The problem is as much his fellow PP-mates as it is him though. His success in Florida was the result of good setup passes after the PK had been forced to move around. We saw it last season, he can get his one-timer off very quickly if the pass is even remotely in his wheelhouse. Lately that pass has been a bouncing puck or is coming off the stick of a player that has hung onto it for too long and the PK is just waiting to take away Garrison's shooting lane. Fix the PP and I think you fix Garrison's confidence and his entire game improves.

Hansen has let some of the media praise go to his head. He's not a top 6 forward. He shouldn't be trying to play like one. Since being elevated to the top 6 and getting time with the Sedins his game in his own end has dropped off.

Edler needs to be moved, and fast. His stock is still high as trade bait, and Gillis needs ask him to waive his NTC, he's a fucking disaster right now and might benefit someone else from the jolt of being traded.

Our PK sure looks more scrambled without Tanev.

Hopefully the Sedins find their game, ANY game for that matter, over the Olympic break. Maybe it's waiting for them in Socchi and they can bring it back. Right now they are both abysmal, Daniel looking worse though.....more so since Henrik went down.

Lately it feels like we are watching 5 or 6 guys show up to play and the rest of the team is just a giant boat anchor for them. I'm thinking of Kesler, Kassian, Tanev, Luongo, and to a lesser extent Bieksa and, fuck me but I'm gonna say Tom Sestito too. I've also liked what I've seen from Schroeder and Stanton since their respective returns to the line up.

I will state this.

I believe the Canucks can win the SC with a couple changes to the core.

We need a QB D Man and a top 6 forward to play on Kesler's line.

Proven players not 1 hit wonders or reclamation projects.

Sedin's are still top players in the league and Luongo aint not slouch.
