David Booth is exciting.

At this stage considering contracts, he is a more valuable asset than the biter.

At least we aren't giving up 2 4th rounders for him that are guaranteed to be on team Canada world junior team!

Corrado has already played NHL games, Cassels is doing well in Oshawa and hutton/McNally are doing well in college. Grenier is coming along as a power forward. Lain/Archibald/lack all FA signings that have played for the big club this season.

I doubt we are getting through the first round, but I had no expectation of that happening when the cap was announced for this season.

GMMG did well with the cheapo signings he could squeeze under the cap. The Canucks just didn't have cap space to make a move and neither do other teams.

Just a couple thoughts:

a) For the luv of god, plz take Hammer off the 1st unit PP. He's a good 2 way player and I like him more as a checker, but he is NOT good enuff to run the PP. I'd think Edler or Juice would be better options with Garrison on the 1st PP unit. Hammer can maybe play some short minutes on the 2nd unit PP, but that's about it. & Hammer, if u can't handle the 1-timer cuz the pass is too hot or the puck is wobbling, just stop the puck first, then shoot it. Or just stop it and make another play.

b) I have no idea why Burr is always out there on the 1st line and 1st unit PP all the time. First off, he's our new Booth and can't buy a goal to save his life. Secondly, he has been injured most of the year. Why not play another guy on the 1st line RW? I'd luv to see Kassassian there, heck I'd even rather see Hansen there. Let Burr do what he does best, play his solid pesky 2-way checking game on the 2nd or 3rd line. Give him a few games to get back into game shape. He's in no pressure to score there, then maybe if he scores a couple goals and gets a lil confidence back, then put him on the 1st line again.

I guess we don't need to worry though. Vinny Prospal is on his way to save us. Just what we fuckin need, another soft Euro.

One more reason not to take RD seriously.....he just listed 3 second round picks as being 1st round failures by Gillis.

Keep it up asshat.

You mean Burrows who has played 3 - 4 games has played on the 1st unit PP all the time? I think last night was only his 2nd game on the PP.

Don't blame him, blame Hamuis who had 5 - 6 glorious opportunities to score but couldn't hit the broad side of the barn 5 ft from it.

Can't exactly hold Hamhuis responsible for those. What's he supposed to do, turn his stick around and shoot right-handed?

It's a tall order to convert on a one timer like that when you have to let the pass cross your body.. gives you less time and puts the shot at a worse angle. And the guy's a defenseman anyway, the fact that he was the trigger man on our first unit powerplay says more than anything.

Bieksa, Kesler, Kassian.. hell even stone hands Hansen might have been able to convert on those.

At least Hamhuis is willing to skate out there.

Disagree, they are professionals and he should of burried one or 2, i can see a couple being missed with the bad ice and the puck bouncing but Hamhuis is not an offensive D man so putting him out there is the first place was a mistake. having a forward there would of been a better option.
