So whaddya think? Are pending UFAs more likely to sign with a team run by Torts?

It almost seems we are 1 power forward short of a run...

Ott would go medieval on Brown's ass.
Ott and Torres would be nice.

As the game went on, I kinda got pissed off at us for taking some dumb penalties when we needed to open the scoring, but I'm happy with the statement we made.

In games where we're trying to play like this, a line of Kane/Simmonds-Kesler-Kassian wouldn't be too shabby. Ott would be a nice fit in our Bottom 6 too.

MG, this is where you step in.

Wow, three dicks! I'm pretty sure I know what I'd do (emoticon I wish I had).

I got stuck on the first post.

Anyways.. the Canucks got the queens where they want them now.

Canucks punched 'em in the throat.

Sure they got the point, but they're feeling a bit uneasy now.

The Canucks passed tonight's character test, but couldn't maintain the pace in the third period. All that PK didn't help (3rd period energy level), but it was worth it.

PS - It's better to punch the speed bag than be the speed bag.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

There was no real drop off in pace in the third period. The Kings goal was the result of a mental error, not the pace of the game. We actually picked up the pace in the latter half of the period.

We may not have gotten 2 points, but this game was a win for us in every other respect.

The officials seemed pretty hell bent on giving LA this game in the first period. We were short-handed for the first half of the opening frame, and that included some 5-on-3 time. Nobody on the Kings bench tonight got a free pass, and other than Matt Green the Kings played like a bunch of pussies when push came to shove. Nolan? Pussed out all night. Mitchell, wouldn't go with Kassian but sure flapped his yap. Brown, wouldn't drop them until he was up against Kesler, a guy not known for fighting but who fed him his lunch.

Quick played like Quick and the Canucks weren't great in front of his net and we didn't get a pile of good chances on him. When we did, he did his job.

Tonight the NHL furthered it's reputation as a biased league.

The Sedins played a tough game. I liked their compete and the fact that they were willing to dish hits out. Daniel positively rocked that King player with a hip check just below our blueline. :wow: Offensively the Sedins are missing Burrows. I'm not sure exactly what we'll see when he gets back, but it is clear that the Twins are inconsistent producers who will struggle to get 70 points if they don't have a player who plays a game that 100% compliments them and supports them. Time will tell...

The bottom line? We CAN skate with these guys, we can handle them physically, we just don't have scoring threat that we need to bury them. Hopefully Gillis recognized this tonight.
