Round two battle of the goalies goes to.....LUONGO

Luongo- 2, CS-0

What a boring game. Give me a sloppy 5-4 game any time but hey, the good guys won.

So we have 9 of a possible 12 points with one game to go.

The point tonight, well two but we only needed one, makes this the best 7 or longer road trip in Canuck history!!!
Yes RD, all our warts, crappy management, lack of scoring etc etc etc, we are guaranteed to go home with best result ever, on a long road trip. Not a Stanley Cup I concede but still not a bad result. And we have a chance to make it even a better road trip tomorrow.

The Canucks left the swamp like a thief in the night.

True, we stole 2 points but the Devils stole one. It was an offensively challenged, close checking boring game. Perhaps we didn't deserve the win but neither did the Devils. It's not like they out played us, they didn't, but neither did we out play them. It was that type of disinterested game. Neither team seemed pumped and ready to play, or even look interested in the game.

But we found a way to get two points against a team we must beat.

Am I happy with this road trip? You bet. Am I happy with the way the team is playing? No, I'm not. I'm also concerned about the injuries, lack of forwards and the cap. But as much as I have fallen off the MG band wagon I do trust he and Gillman will work it out. Perhaps not in time for tomorrow's game but they will work it out.

Just a plain old boring game against one of the league's perennial boring teams.

The only thing I take away from this one.....well two things......

First, the guys looked like they were holding back, maybe keeping something in the tank for tomorrow?

Second, and most obvious, can the officiating get much worse?

Their skaters outplayed ours. Our skaters looked like they were trying to conserve energy, cause they were exhausted. Still they gutted it out, & Luongo stole it, with a little help from Cory.

A happy ending, & on to a tough game in St Louis.

Sounds like I made a good decision by skipping this game! Even the shootout was boring.

The Devils are boring...have been for a long time. Not surprising the place looked only 1/3 full on the highlights. I wouldn't pay to go watch that crap.

Nice to see Luongo have a good statistical outing. Obviously not good injury news with Hansen, Schroeder and Booth, but it looks like Burrows is very close to returning.

One more game tomorrow night on this trip, and then the schedule evens out a bit. Excellent road trip so far.

I've been thinking that all night.

^ That thought probably crossed a lot of people's minds.

Totally quiet on the social media front though, but I suppose the team is traveling right now.

Sauve has been sent down. Pelletier and Archibald have been called up so I guess we will have a full compliment of forwards tomorrow, well if Burrows plays.

Even being so short handed Sestito still only gets 8:30 TOI.

Could be singing the blues big time in St Louis.

This could get ugly.

Woot, Magic Mike does it again. The guy can do it all, play on any line, play centre or wing, play specialty teams PP & PK, score clutch goals and score in shootouts. He has been the missing link that we've struggled without the last couple years. :P

Yeah, we'll see how the boys do in St Louis tomorrow. Too bad LapDawg is suspended.
