HNIC may leave CBC :)

Re: HNIC may leave CBC :)
Nothing's really changed for me, except there appears to be much more variety in the games I can watch. I rarely watched the pregame or intermission crap. I think there were 7 or so games covered on Saturday, whereas in the past there was two or three.
I think the only segment I regularly tuned in to watch was any Canucks related After Hours interviews.

I'm with herb in that I don't watch much (any) of the pre/post/during game talking head stuff but IF I do watch a game the one thing that's gonna piss me off is the play calling/color commentary.
How can there be so may lousy NHL play by play/color guys on TV?
There's guys on this (other) goddamn hockey talk message board that could do a better color job than ex-pros for Crissakes.

The good ones that are out there (Hughson, Cuthbert, Shorthouse, Reaugh) don't seem to work nearly enough, either.
At least I haven't heard Mark Lee or Kevin Weekes...yet.

The HNIC characters are still trying to do their thing over at Sportsnet. Even when it's not HNIC.
Scott Oake had an 'interesting' first intermission interview last night with Clayton Stoner of the Ducks.
Thank you Clayton Stoner.

Do you have extra motivation playing against old team mates like Bonino ?
... Followed by several straight faced platitudes ... just to underline the comedic futility.I wasn't Bonino's team mate last year. I didn't play for Anaheim.
Thank you Clayton Stoner.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

Actually, kinda sounds like The Dude wrote this script. He certainly was pushing for Ritchie way over Nylander.Strangelove wrote:BurningBeard wrote:

Cherry goes out of his way tonight to portray Miller as a douch on C-word's Corner.
Time to cut his CC down to 4 minutes....

He showed a clip of Miller getting scored on... and Miller telling Richardson to stop screening him.SKYO wrote:what did he say?Strangelove wrote:.

lol oh, yeah Cherry is 80 yrs old - time to retire, it'd be fitting if he choose his successor on HNIC imho.
Sportsnet would hire some hipster or something.

Deal isn't look so good now, apparently.

Also, Ron isn't going to be hosting any games, his job will be to make sure Cherry's straight jacket is firmly secure throughout the playoffs.

The great thing about now is that when the OTT/MON game goes into OT, Rogers will switch the Canucks feed over to another channel so we don't miss any of the pregame show and fans outside of BC/ALB can watch the whole game rather than wait for the first one to finish.
Re: HNIC may leave CBC :)
well calgary won't win the cup this year most likely and aren't getting mcdavid. win-win situtionSKYO wrote:All I saw was Cherry blasting the leaves for their shitting drafting, noting the two time recent champs LA Kings drafting all our Canadian players, thanks to Michael Futa.
Speaking of the draft, I can see Connor McDavid with the Flames, which I'd be ok with as long as we win the Cup before they win their 2nd. ha.
I'm just tired of American teams getting all the Canadian generational talents.
