Matt Cullen agrees to terms with the Nashville Predators on a 2 years /7M total. #TSN
$3.5 million for a guy who's older than dirt? Nashville MUST be desperate.

Guess it's the going rate for 2nd-line Cs. We'll see if he earns it.

Guess Holland & Co. are waving buh-bye to Filpulla.

So, Nonis has cleared Burke’s terrible contracts to make way for his own…

$4.9M per year for Weiss in Detroit is good value. Detroit has had a good day.

$3M per year for Boyd Gordon is bad value. I guess he’s cheaper than Horcoff at least.

Apparently Tyler Seguin’s mom is mad…

Funny how Lapierre isn't signed yet... I guess $3m is too rich even for the Preds... To be fair, none of the (ex)Canucks have been signed so far.

Not many players we could have realistically gone after at these rates, and I'm ok with that. As others have said there re some LTC being given out that will come back and be albatrosses.

Like what Detroit has done with Alfie and Weiss. A lot of coin but can't really argue the value. Detroit will have to clear some room and cap now but they always find a way to get it done. Early winner to me.

Toronto has gotten better with Bernier, Bolland, Clarkson and re-signing Bozack. They will be a better team if Bernier lives up to the billing but that Clarkson deal is gonna bite them.

Edmonton some god pick ups. Not sure if Barbie is an up grade over the Berlin wall but the cap hit is good. Gordon a good signing but 3 million per has me shaking my head. I guess that is the new hit for a 3rd line centre.

Guess MG wasn't kidding when he said our re-tooling would be mostly getting the kids on ELC to step up.
The only HW the Canucks need

Gotta think we weren't offering Hendricks the 4th year.

Dan Ellis for 900k to Dallas - I wonder where the Canucks stand on a veteran back-up? HW said they were looking at Labarbera, but I imagine most vets won't want to sign here with Lack waiting in the wings and a potential demotion to the AHL in the cards.

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun
Craig Adams is among the UFA depth centers that the Vancouver Canucks have kicked the tires on
Is he any good?? I know that he has two SC rings, one from Carolina and the other one from Pittsburgh.

If he comes cheap he would help our 4th line, plus he can play all 3 spots up front. Just a all round good veteran checker.

Craig is a buddy of mine (more of a friend of my best friend), really good guy, very smart, keeps himself in amazing shape. You won't find a guy who works harder than him. He wasn't the most gifted guy in the world and had to work his ass off to make the NHL. I'd think a guy like him would fit in well as the 12th/13th forward on the team.

Still need another scoring winger and a center, I'm guessing Gillis and co think whoever it is has to be better than Schroeder as the 3rd line guy or else what's the point? I would agree with that sentiment, especially given the money that 4th line players are getting at the moment.

No announcement yet?...seems that they're going back and forth, round and round, without actually getting anything done
