Unfortunately, 1 game doesn't mean much. Any goalie can have a hot game here and there and steal a win; however, to be a true elite goalie, u gotta play @ a high lvl for a long stretch. 4 wins to a series, 16 wins for a cup. Lou was very good for 3 rounds and a couple games in the finals, but he played like a flake when we needed him the most.darren wrote:Yet another poster who can't remember how game 2 of the SCF ended.

He was great for 3 rounds.
But the finals were a write off because the team couldn't score.
Luongo stole all 3 of the games that Vancouver won in that SCF. He was horrible in Boston, but so was the team in front of him.
2 SO in the SCF is a VERY GOOD thing to have on your resume. It's not a Stanley Cup, but it's still an accomplishment in and of itself....especially when you consider how awful the team in front of him was in that series.

Meantime.. THIS YEAR..
2 preseason starts for Schneider..
against Rags and Isles..
2 shutouts ..
Lou ? Lack ? slow start for both .. or are they both backups ?

I will talk about Luongo and Schneider when teams have actually played 40 games that matter . Unlike the urine crew some people actually have the patience to see how things unfoldMondi wrote:I see the (blind) faithful is out in full force.
How about this, would you prefer Schneider's starts to the preaseason or Luongo/Lack's?

yup,40 games that matter sounds about right to me. Not 3 pre-seasonIsland Nucklehead wrote: Remember when Tim Thomas was supplanted in Boston by Tuukka Rask in 09-10? Well he came back from that demotion and won the Vezina and the Stanley Cup the following season.

Considering how often pre-season all stars turn into regular season nobody's.....Mondi wrote:I see the (blind) faithful is out in full force.

Tampa Bay and Columbus tie for the Presidents trophy, the Kings and Pens are missing the playoffs, and Vancouver picks 1st overall.Mëds wrote:Considering how often pre-season all stars turn into regular season nobody's.....Mondi wrote:I see the (blind) faithful is out in full force.

You contradict yourself. If Lou wins 16 games, he's a great goalie, but he only won 15, so he's a bum. 16-15 is 1 the last time I checked.. so it seems that 1 game DOES mean quite a bit.Todd Bersnoozi wrote:Unfortunately, 1 game doesn't mean much.
