There is no fucking way Gillis is interested in hiring Torts.

Torts would have this team playing solid defense and blocking shots all over the place.

The flip side is that the offense would be hard to come by and we would be watching too many one goal games that could go either way by virtue of a single screw up.....Edler would absolutely have to go. :P

We don't have the luxury of Henrik Lundqvist that Tortorell had with the Rangers.

Without a doubt this team would play hockey or sit on the bench or press box. Tortorella may have a shorter shelf life, but he can motivate players to either play hockey or expose them as pussies who aren't ready or willing to man up and go the distance.

The Province has said that the Canucks are also interested in John Stevens. He's the assistant in charge of the D in LA. I think he also had a stint as the Head guy in Philly for a little while as well.

I think if the Canucks are interviewing a guy like Eakins and interested in John Stevens, Torts isn't the way to go.

Rumours out of New York today that "multiple players" pushed for his firing.

Bad choice for Canucks on so many levels. The Rangers offense and PP stunk under Torts and he couldn't get his top players to raise their game, and he couldn't adapt his style to the players he had...just about the exact opposite of what we need. no way no how no torts...

The goalie graveyard that is Vancouver.

A key part of the Canucks "success" over the past few years has been because of their goaltending.

Looks like HW is right again. There are reports flying around that the Canucks are set to Tortorella.

LOL no.

Not unless the Tortorella is some kind of new Macarena.

And far be it from me to question the sources of a 2011 BC Sports Central CFL Pool Champion, but I think those reports are mostly based on the idea that Pizanos stick together.

The Canucks would be better off hiring me as coach rather than Tortorella, and I cant even f-----ing skate.

Bump-worthy, from May 9, 2013:
Hockey Widow wrote: The other interesting thing I have heard is that the scuttle butt is that if the NYR lose in round one Torts will be history and he is number one on MG's list to replace AV, should AV not be kept around. I find this hard to believe because of the personality issues involved but its what I hear.
