Good point, the back ref should be watching the play away from the puck.

Yeah, the way I've heard it described is the low ref (below goal line) keeps his eye on the net and the crease and any play that drops below the line into the corners. The far official watches the slot and everything on the wings.

What took them so long to realize Sutherland is a crap ref I've been calling this moron out for a year.

I think our progressive thinking GM MG will have to invest in referee tendencies studies just for this team.

For every game, review who were the refs/linesmen, how did they call it and whom did they give the most penalties to plus why.

So for the next playoffs, the Canucks will be better prepared and learn what to expect from each ref, because getting shellacked like that in this SJ series from these ref's was complete bullshit, just from mostly 'reputation' calls.
