Montreal, Detroit and Anaheim inquired on Alex Edler. Wings made an offer. Habs may circle back. But nothing close at this point"

I imagine Danny DeKeyser would be a part of that Det offer, maybe adding Gustav Nyquist.
I can see Detroit having a hard-on for Edler seeing as they really missed Lidstrom and see Edler as a poor-man's version of the same. Throw in Justin Abdelkader, DeKeyser and Ferraro and I'd take it.

I can't imagine what Montreal would be offering that would interest Gillis.

Gallagher is intriguing though, tack on a dman and it could persuade MG to make a deal.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Make a splash and put P.K. Subban in the deal - we could have the first brother tandem in team history.... or would that be too obvious? :look:

Where's the love for Russ and Geoff?

What about Luongo and his evil twin? :P

Okay I hate to ruin the joke but .. you guys are intentionally neglecting to mention 2/3 of our first line, right?

At first I thought Lancer was just engaging in a little racial humour... ie. yeah we had Geoff and Russ, but Jordan and PK would be our first brother tandem..

Oh no, dbr, had it been a racial quip I would have gone ...first "bruthah" tandem.

On the related topic though, can anyone remember two brothers playing on the same defence pairing in the NHL? I'm stumped.

12:02 EST by my watch, and no Edler trade announcement. Guess Eddie gets to stick around to find out how Torts is going to get him to "be better" this season.

Still waiting for another 'bold move'... :|

I think you may have to settle for Tortorella's balls in Edler's face. That's as bold as it gets.

Don't think this fanbase in general could handle any more boldness...

With Edler not getting traded, allegedly  , one has to wonder if Ballard will now be bought out. His buy out is more palatable than Luongo's and would free up some valuable cap.
The only HW the Canucks need

Yeah we have to re-sign Tanev and what like 5 players to fill the rest of the roster? all with about $4M in cap space?

Ballard has to be bought out! or as SL says take back a couple of affordable contracts to bury like a Reinprecht etc.
