Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Re: Roster Questions
Of course he did...he was a long ways down on the depth chart for a reason. I'm surprised given the desire for the organization to have 101 D-men that have logged NHL icetime at some point in their careers for depth.Topper wrote:The guy stunk.tantalum wrote:The Joslin one surprises me a bit. I'm of the opinion that once you get past the first call up or two you better be hoping none of the top 4 are injured because those call ups really don't contribute a damn thing.
Re: Roster Questions
If Kassian is ever going to get some good minutes, I think MG is going to have to deal a Right Winger asap.
Burrows
Booth or Higgins
Hansen
Kassian
Weise
We also have Jensen to bring along in year or so.
Be nice if we could trade one for a Shawn Matthias type.

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Burrows, Booth, and Higgins can all play the left side.SKYO wrote:If Kassian is ever going to get some good minutes, I think MG is going to have to deal a Right Winger asap.

Though I might trade Burrows for Matthias and a pick. A $1.75M cap hit from him for the next 2 years would look good as our third line centre!
Re: Roster Questions
Even better.
Trade Burrows and Tanev to FLA, get Matthias and their first rounder in 2015. They're gonna suck so it may be McDavid!!
Sign Morrow - $4M
Sign Blum - $660K
We'd still have $2.2M in cap space then to sign someone else perhaps.

All except for the part where you have Bieksa playing with Edler. Disaster in the making.Aaronp18 wrote:Even better.

One of Bieksa or Edler need to go if we are going to be playing some youngsters on the blueline. Young players like Blum, Corrado, and Weber, need to be paired with responsible guys like Garrison and Hamhuis, Responsible young defensemen like Tanev are few and far between, some first round picks being an exception. Inconsistent players like Edler and Bieksa are not guys you want playing next to young dmen who struggle with their own inconsistencies of inexperience.
Re: Roster Questions
That's just the way capgeek organized everything on the backend. I edited a few things but forgot to move that pairing around.Mëds wrote: All except for the part where you have Bieksa playing with Edler. Disaster in the making.
Weber and Blum are both 24 and I think you could pair one of them with Edler. But we do have $2.2M in capspace with that scenario so additional moves could be made taking on salary.

I'd soon pair one of them with Bieksa.....but that would mean pairing two right-handed shooters.Aaronp18 wrote:That's just the way capgeek organized everything on the backend. When Bieksa screws up he usually responds with some snarl and picks it up. When Edler screws up you can expect that to be the tip of the iceberg.

D.Sedin H.Sedin Kassian
Booth Kesler Burrows
Higgins Schroeder Hansen
Weise Lain Richardson -- Sestito Santorelli Jensen Pinizzotto
Edler Garrison
Bieksa Hamhuis
Tanev Weber -- Corrado
Luongo
______ -- Lack Ericsson
The Kings, Ducks and Sharks are going to be pretty stoked we're in their division if this is the team we plan on icing.
Looks terrible.

Re: Roster Questions
It does lack a little something doesn't it Rummy ?
Eye Bags had a chance to trade Burrows and or Edler, perhaps move the bible thumper in a package with a more attractive asset ( Tanev perhaps), but he chose to sit on his hands a la Brian Burke/Pat Quinn. The more things change the more they stay the same.
Same old stale core that is 2 and 12 in its last 14 playoff games. I wonder if Santorelli got a NTC being an Italian and a local boy.

Looks just like the team that got swept in the first round recently.Rumsfeld wrote:... if this is the team we plan on icing.

Or you can say they look like the team that went all the way to the SCF. Hopefully, Torts can rejuvenate this team.Cornuck wrote:Looks just like the team that got swept in the first round recently.Rumsfeld wrote:... if this is the team we plan on icing.

Well we won't have to worry about having such a low pick next summer...I'm thinking 12th...Cornuck wrote:Looks just like the team that got swept in the first round recently.Rumsfeld wrote:... if this is the team we plan on icing.

Re: Roster Questions
This team makes the playoffs again this year, and will have a chance to compete. Perhaps if Gillis keeps some cap space for once he can add a meaningful player at the deadline. I'm fine with trying some of the youth, and I'm sure they aren't done adding just yet.Blob Mckenzie wrote:It does lack a little something doesn't it Rummy ?

Re: Roster Questions
If Gaunce or Lain can't crack the line-up, where is the infusion of size to the bottom 6 coming from?
Sestito is big but I'll be impressed if he stick with this team the entire season, let alone next year.
I'd like Weise better if he were the 13th forward, not expected to be a staple on the 4th.
I think the 4th line can be very effective with Richardson at C if he has two big wingers who are good on the forecheck.
