Nucks in 6 guys and gals...book it :mex:
It will be in six... but it won't be us.
Pfft. We beat these guys in 5 a couple of years ago. Are we that much worse or are they that much better? I'd say neither.

No need to worry.

This series is guaranteed to start well.

Mclean, Cherry, & Stock won't be there. ;)
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

Oh I get the population base and the ratings and all of that shit but it's my tax dollars that go into that corporation too and last time I checked the dollar out west is on par with the dollar back east.

A disgrace, a real disgrace. And they wonder why the East is hated everywhere but the East.
Now that Benjo has clarified things, I don't see it that way.

Population of Quebec and Ottawa: 9m
Population of the rest of Ontario: 12m
Population of BC: 4.5m

If CBC could only pick two series then there's no way they could do other than they did. This hasn't come up before because usually two of the three Eastern teams stink every year, but it's a new world. Yes, the dollar is at par out west, but there are more of them here.

Vlasic/Braun are SJ's shutdown pair. They go up against the Sedins I assume.

That leaves Boyle/Irwin and Hannan/Stuart for Kesler and Roy.

McLellan still matches lines mainly while Vigneault is still prone to zone starts over line matching. Boyle also gets paired with Thornton's line alot.

So it will be interesting to see who Kesler and Roy end up matched with (home and road) and to what degree they can exploit the very slow pair of Stuart/Hannan.

Apparently ticket sales are not too good for round 1 (will I be sued for saying this?)

Hubby has had two calls from business associates and we now have tickets for home games 2 and 5. When did that ever happen before? To make it weirder, I am not happy to be lower bowl. Will they kick me out for going Southsider in club seats?

Looking at the lineups .
ok .. Sedin line no changes .. ( time for these 2 200 lb swedes to look after themselves ? )
Kesler line is going to be the "tough" line All 3 can go to the net ..
3rd is a good 2 way line.. Raymond the weak link. Hansen will again up his play in the playoffs..
4th.. nothing to say.. Ebbet ?? doubt this line gets much time.
Glad to see Ballard out .. :)
g oing to be interesting watching Torres against the Kesler line ( damm wish we had kept him )
D pairings look ok.. but of course the Juggler will change all lines and D pairings to suit the game..

Schneider says he is ready to play, but coaches are being a bit more cautious saying Schneids still needs to speak with medical staff. AV says "We'll see how Schneider is tomorrow. No decision yet.".

tantalum wrote:Sharks no longer have Clowe, Murray or McGinn who were the biggest pains on that front. Their leading PIM guy had 61 minutes (Dejardins). Havlat is second. They aren't the same borderline excessively rough team as they have been in years past. Of course it is precisely that change that may make them a more effective team...they spent far too much time attempting to intimidate with physical play they got in penalty trouble or lost focus on what was most important. They will be physical but I don't see them being more physical than every other playoff team.
Just tune into the Blues/Kings game right now. Almost 40 minutes of this and there is NO WAY that Ebbett should be even considered as an option on a playoff team. It is all hitting and hard work, Ebbett will be a total liability.

St. Louis' 4th line is just pounding it out for their entire shift every time they hit the ice. They have completely exhausted the Kings top 2 lines and it's not even the third period yet.

Our 4th should be Sestito-Lap-Weise. Send them out and tell them to hit everything that moves.

Luongo with the start. Cannata will back up. Schneider eats popcorn in the pressbox.

Kesler did not take the morning skate and his right arm had a wrap on it.
