A rash of players placed on waivers today. Can't remember the details exactly but this has something to do with the number of call ups allowed after TDD and setting playoff eligibility for AHL teams. Or some such nonsense.
I think A player must be on an AHL roster at 3 p.m. ET tomorrow to be able to play in that league after.

I understand why the team did this with the AHL roster freeze coming up. Cracknell is a hard working consummate professional imho. He has played every bit as well as Derek Dorsett at 25 % of the cost.

I've kinda thought the same thing. He doesn't hit as much, and he doesn't drop the gloves, but at a fraction of the cost he's otherwise as effective. Shoulda sent Dorsett down.

In the end at least UFA's know your contract will be respected with the Canucks, JayG off to Tampa, Kesler got his team the Ducks, along with Bieksa, Hamhuis well respected in this process, Vrbata well no team didn't offer up anything.

I am fine with Hamhuis staying. I hope we sign him next year. I think he can be a real help with the young d that will be coming in. He is playing better since the injury. I still like what Benning is doing. I think a lot of people think you can force deals and make anything happen. It takes two to make a deal, and I think knowing that, Benning has done a good job in a difficult market. Time to see what happens free agent wise. I am still on the train, it is a long trip, not a race to the end but a chance to enjoy everything on the journey.
