Well, the Canucks had a better chance of dropping one spot than jumping up five, so an OK result. Now, I look forward to their esteemed scouting stuff to pull a "Brook Ward" and do some serious damage with that selection. 8-)

So if Hansen's modified NTC kicks in July 1 do you look to move him before then?

I hope so but the value has to be decent otherwise you hope you have a coach who realizes he's a good third line player and not a top 6 guy.

Perhaps Hansen +6th to move up in the draft. A team might do that flip if they think their guy will be around at 6.

Trade Hansen in a package deal with Edler for something good, that enables Jensen to play full time up front RW along with Burrows and Kassian.

Yes.

Hansen is a top grinder, but over the last couple of seasons he has seen more time in the top-6 and it seems to have made him a less effective 3rd line checking winger.

It would also be nice to drop a NTC, especially for a bottom-6 forward.

Or keep him on the bottom two lines where he is effective.

I think you trade Hansen if there is any sort of return or if he is a part of a bigger trade. Dumping him for a third rounder or something wouldn't make much sense given our total lack of depth.

Jensen's role on the team shouldn't really depend on what Hansen does. Hansen is a bottom six winger, while for Jensen to be effective, he has to be in the top-6. Only way Hansen get's top six minutes is if there are a lot of injuries to the top 6 and he's a stop gap. Other than that, he's put in a mis-casted role.
