That's all folks are saying, Farhan. $4.5M for a PK specialist is too much money. The Canucks are simply not a playoff team if Burrows produces like a 3rd (or 4th, at this point) liner.

1.5 million per point for Burrows. Shouldn't be too tough to replace his production .

I actually like the biter.

My concern is that players need to be evaluated not on a what have they done in the past basis, but on a what can we expect them to provide going forward. Burrows being able to provide offensive production at a rate which justifies a $4.5M cap hit in a tight salary cap environment over the next four years is a legitimate concern.

If Burrows has a nagging injury that has lead to his offensive problems, then at least he'll get an opportunity to rest that injury as well.

Time will tell

LITR may the best value for Burrows these days.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Possible 8 points

Canucks will win 3 minimum possibly 4

True story . The cap space may be very valuable to the team near the deadline. Certainly more valuable than 3 assists and - 7. Not exactly a moneypuck signing.

Fair enough.

I just think that given Burrows' history and past success here, he has earned the right to have a little slack thrown his way. He needs to pick it up obviously when he gets back, but lets not call for the guy's head if he comes back and gets off to a bit of a slow start.

“That's what he's about; that's what everybody loves about him,” Tortorella said of Burrows' toughness. “And he played good, too. Watching the tape, I could see he was moving his jaw around and you could tell it was bothering him. But he played and played really well. It doesn't surprise me. In the short time I've been with him, that's what he's about. That's what we'll miss a lot in the room — that type of guy. We'll need to find a way to get it done.”
What a lovely story .

Agreed.

My favorite part of the story, is that it's actually 100% true.

The Gillis further deepens the Center position signing Cole Cassels.Kind of unusual signing a 3rd rounder at this time of the year but the kid has been lighting it up in the juniors so I guess the Canucks decided sooner is better.

Luongo's trade value is going up. The market, & his play say so.

Henrik Lundqvist just signed for seven years, until the age of 40, at a cap hit of 8.5M$.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.
