Just got to dot the i's/cross the t's, for the logistics of bringing in the formerly Benning scouted Tryamkin.

Pay a fee to terminate KHL contract, get Edler or Sutter placed on LTIR so they can come back fresh for next season, get immigration papers in tidily order.
Waive Weber, recall Pedan :wow:

My wish, not a fact, yet
We noticed no "d" or "ed"

With no disrespect the Canucks management and politicians have a lot in common, they use a lot of words but don't really tell you anything. All I know is that the Canucks DID NOT make any significant trades this season in moving vets for picks/prospects.
Ummm summer.... once again.

We are no longer going to use that website - every time we put a name up, it gets out to the media - Benning.

This really seems to be a problem somewhat specific to Vancouver. You would think that the NHL would want to investigate. The more I am reading this the more pissed off I get. Benning and company were crucified for that list, made fun of etc etc etc. Someone is fucking with us!!

Bring out the Russians! They don't fuck around.

I'm guessing throwing in the towel on the season is turning into an opportunity to give Tryamkin a "tryout" without him having to prove himself in camp first. If he does well he'll be more confident and likely to show up for camp rather than return to the KHL. I'd be shocked if Pedan does not get called up as well.

Time to hire a hacker to see whose been releasing info to the public.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

Hmmmm they already have "targets" in mind for their $17M in cap space this summer...

Let's look back over their targets so far:

6-27-2014 Derek Dorsett
6-27-2014 Luca Sbisa, Nick Bonino
6-28-2014 Linden Vey
7-1-2014 Ryan Miller
7-2-2014 Radim Vrbata
11-25-2014 Andrey Pedan
1-29-2015 Adam Clendening
3-2-2015 Sven Baertschi
7-1-2015 Brandon Prust
7-1-2015 Matt Bartkowski
7-28-2015 Brandon Sutter
8-26-2015 Adam Cracknell
1-8-2016 Emerson Etem
2-22-2016 Markus Granlund
2-24-2016 Philip Larsen

This "impressive" list does not give me confidence for Summer 2016.

Benning is saying there was no deal for Verbata or any good one for Hammer. His other choice would be to make shitty trades. Glad he did not do that to please fan base and this gives me more respect for him. Hammer is going to sign here anyway so all we lose is Verbata and his salary. Sounds good to me. Sometimes Vancouver fans sound like whiny kids who did not get a treat when they wanted it. I am of course not referring to this thread or any of its revered posters, but the rest....

Jumping the gun??

Nikita Tryamkin's agent told @champ_hockey his client agreed to join #Canucks paperwork pending
— Igor Eronko (@IgorEronko) March 4, 2016

Benning says he's continuing to negotiate with agent in hopes of getting him released from KHL contract, which expires on April 30. #Canucks
— Brad Ziemer (@BradZiemer) March 4, 2016

Brad Ziemer reporting that the Canucks and Tryamkin's NY based agent are denying the reports that a deal has been reached and the kid is on his way to Vancouver. Says Benning is still working to resolve issues and reach an agreement to get him released before his contract expires April 30th but nothing finalized yet.

Benning has said they will have no cap issues in signing him and that reports about needing to clear cap space are totally false. The issues are in negotiating his release. His contract his governed by the ELC limits so that is not expected to be an issue. Benning also wants him in Vancouver and not Utica so that is not a problem.

Sounds like some tweeter just having fun with false reports.

I'll forgive you for not being "impressed" by Dorsett or Sbisa, but they fill roles at the NHL level.

We had to get a stopgap middle 6 centre back in the Kesler deal and that had to be Bonino.

Stopgap Bonino was traded for Foundational Sutter.
Southern_Canuck wrote: 6-28-2014 Linden Vey
Vey was a gamble (for the 50th o/a) that may not pay off. (shrug)
Southern_Canuck wrote: 7-1-2014 Ryan Miller
Miller is an average #1 goalie on an average #1 goalie salary.

No assets were given up to acquire him.

Vrbata was hailed by all of the top hockey pundits as the best UFA signing of 2014.

You're whack if you don't think that was a good pickup. :mex:
Southern_Canuck wrote: 1-29-2015 Adam Clendening
Clendening played every game for 5 straight weeks after being picked up (due to a ridiculous rash of injuries).

The prospect we gave up for him was not available for that.

This was in the midst of a 101 point season.

Clendening was a throw-in in the Foundational Sutter trade.

Was a solid pickup in a cap-dump deal (Kassian).

Played very well until the dreaded high-ankle sprain derailed his season.
