Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler has broken a bone in his foot, his agent told Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Providence.
Kuzma reports that Kesler sustained the injury while blocking a shot against the Dallas Stars on Feb. 21. The Canucks have played three games since and Kesler has been in the lineup for each contest. Against the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night, he played 19 minutes and recorded an assist.
Kuzma reported earlier on Wednesday that Kesler was seen wearing an air cast on his right foot and did not participate in practice.
The Canucks have yet to address the situation. There is no indication of whether Kesler will be forced to miss time or to the extent of how severe the injury is.

His injury and time out of line up, http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=657790 will take us past the trade deadline. Interesting to see if this impacts what MG does. With Kesler out, Manny pushed out, Ebbett waived, we are short of centres, again. So Steve Pinizzotto has been recalled and will get a shot at playing centre on presumes, 4th line?

With Kesler out 4-6 weeks, Volpatti waived, and Ebbett recalled, the Canucks are getting softer and softer...

I can't remember where but I did read somewhere the Canucks were going to recall Pinizzotto but I did see where AV said probably Ebbett. Interesting.
