NEW YORK/TORONTO (May 23, 2019) – The National Hockey League Players’ Association and National Hockey League announced today that Arbitrator Shyam Das has issued his decision with respect to the appeal of defenseman Vyacheslav Voynov’s one-season suspension issued pursuant to Article 18-A of the NHL/NHLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Arbitrator Das upheld the Commissioner's determination that Voynov be suspended for the equivalent of one NHL season, but found that he is to be credited with having already served 41 games of such suspension during the 2018-19 regular season. Accordingly, the suspension will remain in effect until the mid-point of the 2019-20 regular season.

He’s almost free. A team will take a chance on him but if he wants to play in Europe of the KHL to start the season he will need an out clause or wait until his season is done.

Some people believe wifebeaters need more punishment than that.

The Kings have said they won't have him back.

They hold his rights, I wonder what team might trade for them.

Yeah. Usually, a home town discount means taking less. That is a lot for a career 40 point guy. Oh, and usually, a NTC -lowers- the cap hit. But, maybe Lou Lamorillo is still working for Tarana and the Devils.

Seems a tad high... but then all UFA contracts do.

He was always used as the #3 centre/#2 PP until last season when he moved up

... and he responded well I thought. (as did Lou?)

Folks are saying the NTC is modified for the final 4 years.

Carol Schram
Canada's Troy Stecher will be the lone Canuck to play for a medal at Worlds
Here's the entire article;..https://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Carol-S ... /194/99643

It speaks of Jack Hughes raising his draft bar. That may well be true but Kaapo Kakko says hello from the Finnish team
still going for gold. Their number one player so far this tournament on a team with no NHL players...
He'll push Jack.

Yeah. Shoulda bee posted in Canucks News :D

But seriously, one has to wonder how much of Vey's problems making it in the NHL stem from the stress and distraction of his parents. He was trending the right direction his 2 years here, before the family issues.

A playing and coaching record only a mommy could love.
no offense.

He will put discipline in the room of youngsters. That said, he also rode Kyle Turris out of town only to watch him blossom in Ottawa and elsewhere. We'll see if he's learned. I have a feeling that anybody gets on the wrong side of Tippett or is seen to tune him out will get driven to the airport. Not a bad opportunity if someone can get a young player on the cheap who just needs to get out from underneath Tippet's doghouse.

On the flip-side, it's a shame the inmates won't be running the asylum anymore.

Quick question:

How did it (or has it even ended) with the Bertuzzi vs Moores 'The Suit People'??

was there ever a settlement?

I feel bad for the guy. Both of them, really. I still don't know how he ended up with fractures. There would be neck fractures in the NHL once a month if it was that easy to get them. The whole thing was bizarre collection of events. Nonetheless, no one deserves to have the career ended like that.
