If Buffalo wants to sell real low with some retention I'd still take a chance on the kid being able to stay out of trouble in his hometown. I'd be very reluctant to pay full price though.
HW I think discretion in this case might be prudent... Taking a chance on him not getting into trouble in his hometown I think is beyond a reach here... Its like saying He was in situations in WINTERPEG AND BUFFALO... coming to Vancouver to get on the straight an narrow is a kin to saying Johnny Football will be better off resurecting his career in Dallas... Some guys are just beyond it...

For sure. Everything I hear about Kane, off ice, is that he is a supreme arrogant prick. Rude, conceited, loud, especially when drinking. He is angry with a chip on his shoulder. He acts like the world owes him. Almost everyone I know that knows Kanes say he is embarrassing to go out in public with. He has no respect for others and needs to be the centre of attention. When his behaviour is challenged one of his favourite counter attacks is to use the race card. And yet, everyone describes him as extremely loyal to his family and long time friends who he treats quit differently. He has been described as not very likeable but a guy who actually thinks he is charming. A complete disconnected by him from how he views himself and how others view him.

The problem lies in the fact that his on ice performance is still high. He has value. The hope is he will mature and just get it one day. He is extremely close and deferential to his family. I have no idea how realistic it is to hope that playing in Vancouver will help him rehabilitate his off ice persona or modify his behaviours.

My point is that if the price is low it may be worth the risk. I'm talking no high end players or prospects going back and no high draft picks. It has to be a pure Buffalo dump to get him off the team. I don't think we are there yet though.

I think if this team had better leadership I wouldn't mind taking a chance the problem is this team is only going to be getting younger and more impressionable... I like Kane he can skate shoot hit fight he is a local kid...I also think in some instances he got a bad deal especially in winterpeg I could care less about photos of money but, some of the stuff in Buffalo that happened after his first foray into bad judgement in same city lets just say hes not 19-20 years of age eventhough he still acts that way but we have some of those here and they do not need to be mixing with Evander

If Kaner is traded here everyone knows it'll be his last chance at redemption, or he can play in the KHL where he can do whatever he wants.

Plus I don't think Murray will get what he wants, no good picks or high end prospects, maybe a contract/roster player and a minor leaguer in return at this point.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

Funny guy,

Sbisa 20% + Zalewski or Gaunce(would be a great return) or Etem or something along those lines.

I would be very pleased if Benning could make that deal. I would go so far as to call it evidence of genius.

Man, I`d like to know what the Sabres would want for Evander.

He is exactly what we need on the ice!

His off ice doucheness is a real hard pill to swallow though as it seem that we are drafting and acquiring really strong character guys.

I'd have no issue with Kane on the team, as long as he is cheap!!! Virtanen will be in Utica and he would be the only guy I'd worry about. Horvat, baerstchi, gudbranson are past the point of being "influenced" by a dickhead, and Hansen, Erickson and the sedins can give him shit and tell him to grow up. This team is full of character they can handle Evander it's just a matter of whether the players wanna put up with him.

Bill Day says, Kane will be directed to the NHL/NHLPA Behavioral Health professionals for evaluation and counseling, if deemed necessary.
