Curmy and Micky are Marlin Perkins old
Lol can confirm, you got that right. Doc does too, I have the battle scars to prove it and earned every single one them.
And there are reminders every day like when catching Nate Schmidt's media conference the phone rings and he mocks his folks with a "that's my parents LANDLINE" and I'm like "f'ing kids....I have a landline".
I like to tell the young folk of today how every family I knew when I was a kid had one phone.
It was black and it was bolted to the kitchen wall.
Rotary dialed phones at that. Black and white UHF/VHF TVs with rotary channel selectors. Cable TV was channels 2-12. No remote channel selectors. If you lived outside the lower mainland you used rabbit ears or a roof antennae that looked like a drying rack for reception and you were lucky if you received more than one channel (CBC). Transister radios on the AM dial only. During the late '60s early '70s we could get CKLG and CFUN, the two Vancouver AM rock 'n' roll stations ever so slightly in the late evenings in the cold winter months north in Terrace. Walked a mile in the snow to school but at least it wasn't uphill both ways.
No PVRs, DVDs, or even VCRs.
The good part was EVERYONE saw the latest episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Gunsmoke at the same time.
Yep. Talking about last night's episode of your favorite sitcom or crime drama was always fun the next day at school. I always enjoyed bowling my fellow classmates over onto the ground to demonstrate the way Frank Cannon took down the bad guy.
And we had a beige rotary phone, not a black one, believe it or not. And it sat on the counter, wasn't wall mounted. No cable.
And who here remembers All Star Wrestling. Ron Morier was the announcer and it was sponsored by Fred Asher's Menswear with their downtown location at the corner of Main and Hastings. They had some great performers over the years with the likes of Bulldog Brown, Dutch Savage, Dean Higuchi, Haystack Calhoun, Sweet Daddy Siki and of course Canada's Greatest Athlete our own Gene Kiniski.
So Vegas owner was asked why they gave Schmidt away to a division rival. His answer:
David Schoen 🗞
@DavidSchoenLVRJ
11m
Golden Knights owner Bill Foley to
@BrianBlessing
on Vegas Hockey Hotline on facing Nate Schmidt/Canucks: "Yeah, but they're going to be in the Canadian division."
Also,Montreal was trying real hard to trade for Virtanen but Benning refused because Arizona insisted he be part of any OEL trade. But talks with Montreal are back on again, for what I don't know but it aint Gallagher.

Who else does Montreal have that could be of value to the Canucks? Or could it be a JV + cap dump for a decent pick type trade?

no thanks to gallagher
let's move away from 6 feet and under
Gallagher plays like a 6ft 9 giant though. He’d be an amazing add, he is elite at driving the play, the epitome of going to the hard area of the ice. I wonder if Jake plus Louie plus pick with Gallagher plus money coming back to even it out is of interest to them. Claude julien likes Louie supposedly from the Boston days. In that scenario I would be willing to send a first with Louie and Jake for Gallagher and a small dump.

And if you were away from the house and needed to call somebody, you had to use a pay phone. Blank stare back, right?
Re: Virtanen, I think they'd like to move on him and would if Podkolzin was here. I don't see how they can run with Boeser, Leivo and MacEwen on the top three lines.
