Yeahn, buyouts are no good because the cap-hits would carry over to the next season(s).

Petey and Hughes big bucks seasons.

Jimmy will add the necessary sweeteners to move contracts out IF he has to.

But he probably won't have to, this year at least.
If the doctors can get Ferland on LTIR for the season I think we should be in pretty good shape.

45 games played away from breaking Gordie Howe's record of all time games played. Pretty sure that was a factor in his decision making.

That's not at all what happened with Gordie. When Howe retired from the NHL at the end of the 70/71 season he was 43 years old, the only reason he came back and signed in the WHA was to play with his boys and he kept that going for one more season in the NHL to complete the experience as a 51 year old.

I still have the program from his final game in Vancouver as a Hartford Whaler March 28, 1980. How old were you back then? lol

I hope the Canucks aren't counting on this. Ferland will likely attempt a comeback at least one more time and if he's fit to play, he has to have a spot.

18---ish. My parents talked with Gordie Howe often. Went to meetings with him quite a few times. It was the am-way those days. I was away
most of the time.

The Canucks don’t have to carry a 23 man roster. If they need to they can go with a 20 man roster and take 3m off the cap, until someone goes on LTIR. They can easily get under the cap if they do that even if Ferland is healthy. To start the season they will likely have their AHL team players in town practicing if the AHL season is delayed. So going with a 20 man roster and constantly calling up and down players from within the city shouldn’t be a problem until someone goes on LTIR. As situated, I don’t believe Benning will have any problems or have to make any additional moves to be cap compliant. Not saying he won’t, but it won’t be necessary.
We are all Jim Benning.

lol.. I like how you had a juvenile effort to turn that around. But, seeing as your whacked out on the rainbow crayons again, I'll explain it slowly.

you see Gomer, I was saying to the other fella that you sometimes take it personal when smarter people than you point out your lies and expose your childish cries for attention with all your posts. As usual, you didn't understand what the adults were talking about and lashed out with an emotional response (at the wrong person - but I digress) designed around a crude misdirection.

Most people here understood that I was telling the other fella to watch out for your incredible wit, extremely clever use of multiple links and your supra-intelligent posting of pictures to make your complex, yet overly simple points on this forum. I wanted Curmudgeon to understand that crossing you on this forum was like journeying down to the central cortex of a mind that could rival Steven Hawking's, or (for a better metaphor) perhaps a mind so expanding it could rival the capabilities of Skynet.

... but alas, No.

You ruined it all again.

So, Keep on eating them rainbow crayons, and licking the windows in that shortbus you ride. Try not and trip over you Gomer Pile lunchbucket, and keep your hard hat on.

When I feel like putting you in your place, I'll be sure to let you know. Until then, peace.

I would say that he should not be gifted a spot as all, but has to try out during training camp, just like everyone else.

plus, 1 good "kerbang" from a guy Like MacEwen, and thats all she wrote anyways. Off to LTIR...
