St. Louis, Calgary and a third unidentified team, are all in serious negotions with Jäger. It appears that at least the Blues and Flames are showing the most intense interest. Treliving has said they want Jäger to play on their third line. Blues offering top six, maybe. Deal expected to be announced prior to roster set deadline.

A Sundin moment. That would be a fun one to stir the Bountiful faithful up.Hockey Widow wrote:St. Louis, Calgary and a third unidentified team, are all in serious negotions with Jäger. I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Done deal. Jäger, one year, 1 million + 1 million in bonus money. Jäger on his way to Calgary for official signing.

On waivers today, some intriguing names for sure.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
We are at 47 contracts, 48 if we sign Archibald. Juolevi will slide. We need to have open contracts to be prepared for NCAA signings, like Gaudette, or any FA. As well there could be FA over agers out juniors.
If we pick up a D we have to waive a D. If we pick up a forward, goodbye Virtanen and or Boeser. Now if there is a D with higher upside/potential than Biega or Weirioch then ok. But for forwards, there isn't anyone on that list that interests me more than Archibald, Boeser or Virtanen.
I know you weren't suggesting anyone on that list be claimed by us, I'm just commenting.
Everyone waiting to see who Vegas waives. I think that has to be done by 2pm today, our time.

camman....
Only ones that interest me are QB 6'4 Sproul and depth hitter Kerby Rychel, but I'd rather deal a AHLer swap for em as HW mentioned for contract roster space. No biggie though, they are just depth pieces that aren't worth much.

SN reporting deal done with Josh Anderson:
Hearing Josh Anderson is going to take the three-year deal in CLB and sign. $1.85M AAV. End of the day, players want to play.

Marian Hossa, Blackhawks are allowed to put him on LTIR freeing up his $5.275m in cap space, thanks to some allergic reaction to his hockey equipment that somehow he was ok with for his entire career until it was inconvenient having him on the roster.

That's crazy, but it's good news for a Luongo situation that might happen within the next 5 years.

What a joke the nhl and other leagues are with so many loop holes it’s crazy. Just allow 1 buy out a year that does not go against the cap and be done with all this BS.
No wonder people are moving away from sports.
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
You know that won't be allowed to happen, right?SKYO wrote:That's crazy, but it's good news for a Luongo situation that might happen within the next 5 years.
Gotta agree with Reef - the league is just adding to its legacy of being bush league.

Doesn't strangelove have this luongo contract down to a science.
Where's there's contracts, there's always loopholes! for this is America! (cba incl usa)
