Current CBA expires Sept 15th, 2022. ROR's contract expires at the end of 2022/2023. Seems like good planning to me.Topper wrote:When does the current CBA expire? Weird, I though only Oxycotin was illegal. Isnt Oxycodon a little stronger than T3's?

Little trip down memory lane:
Oh well, at least we have a lawyer on staff who has mastered the fine print of the CBA.. Err wait they canned him to streamline the decision making process.
Topper wrote:There is also some discussion that Calgary could have been on the hook for the $2.5mil signing bonus.
The cost could have been ROR, a 1st round pick, a 3rd round pick and $2.5mil.
Bountiful now wants Feaster's head on Burke's platter.
In Lawrence Gillman we trust.
If you'd have told me that within two years or so a major figure in this fiasco would be a key decision-maker for the Canucks I'd have laughed in your face.Hockey Widow wrote:It would have been an interesting day had the Avs not matched. This only happens if the RFA actually plays in Europe while holding out. It will be a lesson for RFA's and their agents in the future. But his agent should have know as under the old CBA even the AVS would have had to wait until he cleared waivers. So the only change is that the team owning his rights is exempt from the waivers. No excuse for Calgary or any other team in now knowing.
Unless there were some non disclosure issues on the agent's part, i.e., not informing the Flames that ROR had played two games, then this could have been a disaster for the Flames. Lose a 1st and a 3rd and 2.5 in a signing bonus and get nothing to show for it.
Tallon lost his job with the Hawks over his RFA fiasco wonder what will happen to Fester.

McDavid scored 5 goals in his first Oilers prospect scrimmage/exhibition game tonight.
I felt a little bit of pee come out.
To be fair... he was playing against the Oilers.

And I'm pretty sure the goalie he was lighting up was one of their minor leaguers.....so not even as good as Scrivens or Fasth.BurningBeard wrote:McDavid scored 5 goals in his first Oilers prospect scrimmage/exhibition game tonight.

I watched, a couple of sick goals, but honestly I doubt he gets more than 2 of those past a top 15 NHL goaltender.

Wouldn't that be some kharmic shit if McJesus got a career-limiting injury in pre-season???Strangelove wrote:Well that's why we got Prust!BurningBeard wrote:McDavid scored 5 goals in his first Oilers prospect scrimmage/exhibition game tonight.

Prust isn't the guy - Cassels is. Prust isn't subtle enough to check a guy like McDavid, but Cassels certainly is. Will drive McDavid nuts and make sure he takes his pound of flesh but in a way the refs won't notice nearly as much.Strangelove wrote:Well that's why we got Prust!BurningBeard wrote:McDavid scored 5 goals in his first Oilers prospect scrimmage/exhibition game tonight.

Just need a season or so for Cassels to become a NHL player, he's going to be our Andrew Shaw - pain in the ass to play against and can score a few as well.
