Luongo has a well earned reputation for groin strains, just ask his wife.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Lamouriello heading for the Islanders, apparently already in contact with Tavares.
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I suspect we are going to see a change in the way teams do business with star players, if not now then you can bet that there will be some difficult negotiations during the next CBA.
Look at the last 4 teams standing this year only Ovechkin and Stamkos command more than more than 10% of the projected salary cap.
All of the teams have very good goaltending on affordable contracts.
Every team has at least two defensemen who would both be top pairing on 90% of the league's teams.....and none of them are making more than $7.8M.
Doughty will probably get his money, but I won't be surprised to see that the 2018 and 2019 star UFA's are among the last to get the mind numbingly stupid contracts that we've seen handed out in the past.
Doughty also strikes me as the type of guy that will ask for $11M from LA, they'll say no, and so he will sign somewhere else for $10M just to stick it to his former club because they wouldn't pay him what he figures he's worth.
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Who knows Mëds, LA may have no choice but to pay Doughty $10M-$11M per, he and Kopitar are their key pieces, they'll just really have to try to move some difficult NTC players by moving prospects/picks with em.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

They'll probably end moving one of Toffoli or Pearson and one of Muzzin or Martinez, much easier to do that.

Irfaan Gaffar sportsnet:
Evander Kane has re-signed 7x7 with the Sharks.

I'm not surprised, $7M x 7 is what I've been saying he'd get for some time now...

He was a good fit for SJS. I think it’s a good city and a good team for him. Close to home too.
I would have been ok with him here but it’s a few years too early in our development. He was probably tired of rebuilding teams too.
Whew

The Sharks are getting old. Times-up.
Kane is a piece they need for their rebuild.
Something to keep the fans going to games in the interim.
I thought there was a wee, wee bit of a chance he would have gave a big fat home-town discount
to his beloved Vancouver but nah, it'a the money, (dirty rat).
Oh well, fuckit, we got stuff.

I've thrown up this site on averages before but just look at those three California teams in age.
This was before the twins retired. There's some other nifty shit as well.
We don't look too bad moving forward, that is if circumstances shine positively.
Could maybe do with a couple of dudes with some dynamic personalities, (good ones), you know what I mean.
Don't want a team of automatons yet suspensions every couple of games is not spiffy either.
Just want a team capable of winning the Stanley Cup 4 of the next 6 years, that's all...

Agreed, I'm just saying wouldn't have wanted to have to beat that offer, plus the premium for not playing in the sunshine, higher taxes, etc.Strangelove wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 6:35 pmI'm not surprised, $7M x 7 is what I've been saying he'd get for some time now...
I wouldn't have wanted him at 7x$7.5, which is at least where the open market bidding would have got to.

Helluva game 2 tonight. I really want the caps for this one. No teams should be able to cherry pick a roster and win a cup right off the hop when we've suffered an eternal damnation of mediocrity with zero cups in what 50 years?
Fuck you NHL
