I think this fits best in here, around the leage, signings.
Michael Del Zotto signs Lisa Ann...

Generally they're losing nothing about the NHL but this "sensation" makes it worth to write something about? "Sensationel!"

Gibson out six weeks with groin injury. Anaheim looking for a goalie. Could they sign Marty?
A very good team that lack proven goaltending to start the year now they lack NHL goaltending. If ever there was an opportunity to make hay and catch the ducks this could be it. They may very well be strong enough and deep enough to overcome this hurdle but now is the time for a lot of teams to step up.

Kesler 13 games played, 8 points
Bonino 13 games played, 11 points.
Not bad. So far our trade with Anaheim is working better than our trades with Florida.
We need another one!!

... and another trade that's still in the balance:
Kassian 13 2 2 4
Hodgson 13 1 1 2
... but apparently Silent G has been demoted to the 4th line. On a crap team. Good move Cody!

If spud were still here he'd say it is because the kid never had a chance, it is all the plugs he's forced to play with. Hey Clam, good thing Kassian escaped that fate.5thhorseman wrote:... and another trade that's still in the balance:

And in today's crazy news, Pens re-sign Marc-Andre Fleury to four-year, $23 million contract.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

I'm really surprised they didn't try to move him first.....SKYO wrote:And in today's crazy news, Pens re-sign Marc-Andre Fleury to four-year, $23 million contract.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Pens are in kind of a tough spot. Anyone looking at Fleury as a possible option will always say "yeah but his playoffs", while the Penguins are looking at him today with a 1.89 and a .931 (and 3 shutouts) and saying "can Thomas Greiss play 60 games?" I think the answer is likely "no".Mëds wrote:I'm really surprised they didn't try to move him first.....SKYO wrote:And in today's crazy news, Pens re-sign Marc-Andre Fleury to four-year, $23 million contract.
Next season his cap hit climbs to $5.75M. That puts him 13th in the league for goalies (cap hit). When he signed his last deal, his $5M cap hit put him at 11th. The limited NTC is the real make-of-break for me. If there's enough teams the Pens are able to trade him to, the deal doesn't look bad. If there's a market for him in the summer, next year, whenever, now they have an asset under contract to move instead of a pending UFA.TSN wrote:The deal - which includes a no-movement clause and a limited no-trade clause - begins next season and runs through the 2018-19 campaign with an average annual value of $5.75 million.
