The team only loses that kind of money for tax purposes.

Imagine all the good drugs Mikey can buy for the rest of his life (he he he) however long that may be.Hockey Widow wrote:I think you are right Doc. The Kings knew they stood a more than likely chance of losing this and having more severe penalties. Richards knew his risks as well and gets what he is owed over a longer period. Not hard to take a million a year until 2031.
For the Kings this is a great way to avoid severe cap recapture but it means long term shorter penalties. The NHL allowed the Kings to get away with one here IMO. They should not have signed off on the breach and forced LA to buy him out. A great way now to circumvent cap recapture. From all accounts he is getting what is owed in any event. So the benefit goes to the Kings.
Good that it is over for all parties.
Isn't there a penalty as well on Voynov or is he completely off the books.

McDave is allowed to hit from behind.
And the little behind got his first goal tonight...

Lance Bouma out 4-6 months with a broken leg. Needs surgery.
OV scratched because he over slept and missed practice.

Logan Couture out 4-6 weeks broken fibula. Seems quick healing time. I was in a non weight bearing cast for 4 weeks then 12 weeks in a walking cast.

Yeah, but there are different degrees.Hockey Widow wrote:Logan Couture out 4-6 weeks broken fibula. Seems quick healing time. I was in a non weight bearing cast for 4 weeks then 12 weeks in a walking cast.
Couture was spotted wearing a walking boot (on crutches) within 2 hours of cracking that bone in practice...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and wonder if Couture is younger and in slightly better shape and therefore may heal a little quicker . I could be way off base however .Strangelove wrote:Yeah, but there are different degrees.Hockey Widow wrote:Logan Couture out 4-6 weeks broken fibula. Seems quick healing time. Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Broken fibula. Not the weight-bearing bone of the leg, and the fracture is in the ankle so it is likely not a complete fracture and the boot and crutches will suffice. It will also mean less rehab than if the leg was immobilized fully in a cast.Hockey Widow wrote:Blob Mckenzie wrote:I'm going to go out on a limb here and wonder if Couture is younger and in slightly better shape and therefore may heal a little quicker .
