The above is why Topper said "lost in time". There's a reason players get placed on waivers. He's playing worse than one of their guys in the AHL.

I can't believe Ehrhoff has played 12 seasons...

IMO, Benning should claim him.

1.5 Million, UFA at the end of the year, get him for nothing to at least replace Edler for the next 3 weeks, and he'd become the best point man on the PP for this team.
Ya know, that idea is so crazy it just might work.

Unless Benning thinks one of the farm hands is ready for more than a cup of coffee, there are worse ideas out there.
Love the Sport. Love the Team.

Hate the League.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Yup. Going for his third Norris Trophy.

And at 25 years of age, he should soon be reaching his prime. 8-)

(Lidström was 30 when he received the first of his seven Norisses)
Gillis could have drafted Karlsson but the idiot picked centre Cotton Hill Hodgson when we already had two excellent centres in their prime - Kesler and Hank.
Yeah I remember the outrage at the time. Gillis was the only GM to pass on Karlsson.

I wonder if there will be any players who turn out to be awesome picked after Benning's selections in the last couple years. Probably not right.

Pretty good chance there will be a lot of posts about guys picked after Virtanen years from now.

Looking back at the draft, one that still gets me is Jordan Staal #2 before Toews #3. That one would hurt.
Yeah, it's always easy to criticise picks when you already know how the players turned out.

I did not see this coming. I was shocked that the Nucks passed on Kopitar, who I was convinced would become a dominant player. I had no idea Karlsson would win multiple Norris trophies and be in the top five in scoring. He was obviously promising, or he wouldn't have been drafted, but I never expected he would become this good. I would probably also have picked Hodgson over Karlsson. :drink:

IIRC SL has mentioned hoffer has had a couple of concussions? some never recoup from those.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Write up today on Ehrhoff stated that he's still an NHL defenseman, just not for Darryl Sutter. Other issues here.

The article on hoffer with the kings.

Despite the move not entirely working out, there really can be little blame to the Ehrhoff move. As stated on twitter earlier in the morning, Ehrhoff has been about the worst Kings defensemen in terms of transitioning. While our personal season zone exit tracking numbers are not entirely up to date, Ehrhoff was only clicking at a rate of 68% on zone exits via pass. These are essential numbers in the Kings system, which thrives on the defenseman being THE GUY to start breakouts. We have gone over the Kings breakout numerous times, and for those wondering why the defenseman is the key cog in the breakout (along with the center)

Ehrhoff is a good player, and will be a good player on another team (If he is claimed). In a more free flowing, carry based system like Pittsburgh.

"Ehrhoff can still be an NHL defenseman. Just not for Darryl Sutter. Seemed ill-fitting from start."
Leave Weber with Utica, claim Hoffer. 8-)

Word is that Carey Price has been shut down for the season. Although he continues to improve through his rehab it is unlikely that he will see the net until training camp. They are now said to be actively shopping for a top tier goaltender as making the playoffs, and going deep are their priorities.

Now I imagine their first priority will be to hunt for an expiring contract as rumours are circulating that they are looking at Reimer. Howard's name has come up too. Wonder if Miller would waive?

Although Miller is not on an expiring contract and his six million per may not be manageable for them next season.

Looks like the Islanders want out of Barclay's, and Barclay's wants them out too.

Who wouldn't want to shell out the money to watch two-thirds of a hockey game?

So a silver medal then. Anyway it would be Holtby...
