Wants to come back. Was part of the decision re Luongo/Cory and is fine with how it all went down. Has been silent waiting for MG to get his deal and business attended to. MG wants him back and it is expected that he will get a similar 4 year extension same as MG. MG has assured several players that AV will be back. The players are big AV supporters and want him back. A feeling of unfinished business. WOW.

Awesome as well. Just because this will pie in the face to that Homo-voiced goof Botchford on 1040 who has been leading the charge for having AV canned. Love it!

On Luongo:

Toronto is the front runner, for now. Allaire is the draw that has Luongo putting them on his list that does not exist. The cost will be high as MG does have 3 other teams that are also very high on Luongo but MG wants to try and deal Luongo to one of his top two choices, not at the risk of a bad deal, however.

I still don't get this nor do I personally believe it will happen. I also don't understand why Allaire would be that major of a draw. Luongo needs a shrink, not another attempt of tweaking his style at the age of 33.
2011..... the one that got away.

While true it is not about what we think Luongo needs it's about what Roberto thinks Roberto needs.

Undisclosed injuries but I can't get any more than that but I'm thinking the back is just not right.

Interesting...between the Edler and Kesler injuries, some (even bigger) question marks for the Top 4 D and Top 6 F heading into next season.

From HW's insider info on MayRay and Manny v. Pahlson, it looks obvious that Raymond and Manny are gone. They get you $5 Million closer to finding a bona fide Top 4 D or Top 6 F. While I don't usually try to play GM, it looks like Gillis has no option.

As for what Lui will return....I've heard so many iterations (especially here on Toronto radio) that I believe nothing until I see it.

Ahhh yes, let's pile on Luongo. He needs a shrink! Best goaltender in franchise history... Don't believe me, look at his stats! But ya, lets shit all over the guy! Woot woot... Gonna be a long summer….

Strangelove wrote:Luongo + Raymond for Schenn + 5th overall.

That 5th would be nice.

If I were calling the shots I'd TRY to put a package together that would include Schneider, Plus, Plus and maybe Plus and try to land Nash and the 1st overall.

It also sounds to me like Burrows will most likely be gone by the trade deadline.

I can confirm from a source I have that Toronto is indeed the front runner... in fact he thinks the deal is pretty much done. He's never let me down before, but take it for what its worth. I think a deal in principle was done at the trade deadline, or at least the major building blocks but Gillis felt more comfortable going into the playoffs with both goaltenders.

It still doesn't make sense to me either as to why he would ever want to go there, but we have to remember that Lui has a huge ego and he probably believes that he can make the difference of that team making the playoffs. Yes there is a lot of pressure in TO, but really all they need to do is make the freakin playoffs at this point and he will be a god.

That'd be tough since the Oilers traded Riley to Carolina a couple years back.

No shit, I was away when the trade happened but recently looked at Zach's junior career and his suspension and legal difficulties. The kid hates to lose. No more goody two shoes.

....and thanks HW, and thanks for the other evening.....
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Meant 1st round pick! Asshole!

Mikhail Grigorenko, 6' 3", 200lbs shoots left!

Malkin clone..... I'd take him over Yakupov if I had the 1st overall pick.

...in the end all of that and two bits will buy you a personal banner at Rogers Arena and a call to Trevor Linden.

I do not believe saying he needs a shrink is piling on, dude does need one (imesho).

His odd (sometimes stunning) reactions to negative events have an adverse effect on his and subsequently the teams play.

That speaks to head issues.

Sports psychology is a common theme in this day and age, many top pros in all walks of professional athletics use them.

Why do we even care? Lou is leaving end of story.

This smells like kicking a dog once for good measure as its going out the door.

I hope Ginger has thick skin cause as soon as that first 3-5 game loosing streak happens it'll be game on for the rabble.
