To CrzyCanuck: Burrows has helped the Sedins as much as they have helped him. Hank and Dank were on a gradual upward curve that took a decent jump with Carter and then dropped back into its gradual ascension until Burrows ended up on their line.

I can recall a few who were absolutely astounded Burr was even on the same line with the Twins inconveniently nevermind actually being planned. However, Veenyo made that happen. Call it a hunch?

Seriously buds, who didn't get a shot with the twins at some point!

Keep Burrows forever, get rid of Veenyo yesterday.

I don't want him to be replaced, he shall sign for it. At least it's a good raise and if you take his performances a few weeks ago he should be happy for it. It all depends on his personal attitude, does he want to play for a certain team or just taking the most money. I doubt he 'll play a significant role on another team living up to his salary then, he'll more be the next disappointment for his new team.

Btw can someone give me the address of the goalie graveyard in Vancouver, i want to visit when i'm back in town next time.

No worries Oldie. I was simply inspired by your quick comment to bring up such a question. I personally think the term goalie graveyard is such a blasphemy created by fatty Burke.

I can see them planning to go into the season with Pahlsson (or similar) and Schroeder as the 3/4 guys down the middle. Schroeder has spent the last year learning the defensive side of the game and has done a good job from what the organization is saying. Unlike Cody, he has the speed to translate these learnings to the NHL right now.

I'm gonna feel for ya Tantalum when we head into next season with MayRay on board and your Man Manny ousted like the uselessness he is.

You confuse me. My man Manny? If he's good enough to make the team he can be slotted in as he is versatile. If he isn't he can be buried in the minors or waived. Not sure how that makes him my man? Raymond may or may not be on board. If he is then he to legitimately earned a spot on the team...fine with me. I like a lot of what Raymond should be able to bring to a team and I don't believe I've ever said anything different.

As has been said many times on this board - IF Manny is back anywhere near where he was 2 years ago, pre-injury, THEN he's a good player that could be a solid 3rd line center again. IF he's not there then you can get rid of him, buying him out is no big deal at all.

Raymond is almost surely gone, I think Gillis can see the guy just isn't a fit on this team. On a team like the Preds or Caps he would be a good 2nd/3rd line tweener, he's very good defensively and those teams don't try to score so he'd be perfect.

To me the Burrows situation is very similar to Ohlund's last season here. You've got a guy in his early thirties entering UFA and probably his last great chance to pad that nest egg for the rest of his life. Although not as big of a discount as Burrows, I'm sure Ohlund took a bit less money to stay in Vancouver previously too.

If Burrows days are indeed numbered here the only thing that remains to be seen is if we hang on to him for the playoff run and loose him for nothing like with Ohlund, or we package him up before the trade deadline.

I don't think Gillis see "the window" the same way we fans do. I think he'll try to get Burrows to sign a one or two year extension before the trade deadline but if Burrows is looking to hit a home run like Ohlund did (and both deserve it) I can see him gone by the playoffs.

Lou stole all three victories against Boston in the Final...it's a shame when the only way you can win is if your goalie gets 3 shutouts in a a Stanley Cup Final...he got two.

Lou also stole Game 7 against Chicago, the team gets a PP in the final minutes of the game, up 1-0 and they can't even play keep away to ensure Chi doesn't get a chance - I thought the Canucks are suppose to be a puck possession team. Then he makes that save on Patrick Sharp - which I thought was a good save when I saw it live, but going back to you tube and seeing it again, it was a brilliant save up high with Sharp wide open in front of the net.

Tampa Bay scored 21 goals against Boston in 6 games, the Canucks scored 8 in 6 games (both were shutout in game 7) - Do the math.

8-6 =2 Oh that's right, two as in the 2 games Roberto lost the games for us singlehandedly...other teams goalies Roy, Parent, have stood on their heads and stole games for their teams and became Conn Smythe winners in the process, you know, where the 'tender is CONSISTENTLY GOOD and doesn't have bad games once in a while the STC Finals...Luo is not that goalie...Cory is :D

Maybe we can trade some Canuck fans to the Leafs with RL if they love him so much 8-)

Are you referring to game 3 where the Canucks scored 1 goal? Ok, there you have your 3rd shutout and a Canucks Cup.

Maybe it was Game 4 where the Canucks scored ZERO goals? Maybe they could have gotten one in OT, but then again, there is your 3rd shutout and a Canucks Cup.

Or Perhaps it was Game 5 - right, That was Lou's 2nd Shutout (which he had to get as the team only scored ONE GOAL) so obviously not that game - BTW, if you recall he needed that Shutout he got in Game 1 too because all the team could manage was 1 goal.

Hmmm, Game 6? Well the Canucks did score 2 goals with the last one coming in the final 2 minutes of the game (so really, that could have been an empty netter if Lou had SHUTOUT BOSTON FOR THE FIRST 58 MINUTES OF THE GAME)

Finally, Game 7 - again, maybe, just maybe, if Luongo had a SHUTOUT going into OT, they would have won the series.

Which 2 games are you referring to?

Are you on crack? For starters, game 6 where he shit the bed big time and got pulled. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=2010030416

A real Conn Smythe goalie would have been prepared and brought their fucking A game...

And he let in 8 goals...eight gad damned goals in game 3 of a Stanley Cup Final. Never mind we scored 1, a goalie gives you a chance to be in the game and he didn't plain and simple.

I'm not even talking about last year, he failed to be consistent in the previous two playoff years.

I have never been on the Luo bandwagon, ever. I met him and he's a slimey ego driven dick. He was lucky to win the gold medal with a strong offensive Team Canada. For the cowards claiming that people are lining up ready to kick him when he's going out the door I say this...think of the team first....
