He apparently has offers from the NHL, but no mentioning of what team(s).

Apparently his agent says Cashin Yashin has been offerred a contract by an NHL team.

He said the same thing last summer.

Fuckin agent games....

Alas, Winnipeg's ownership group includes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Thomson,_3rd_Baron_Thomson_of_Fleet, who is rich enough to eat the Aqulinis for breakfast.

Yeah, they have the cash but the question is, would they use it to pay a hockey player an obscene amount. Aquaman likely would, but you can't say that of every billionaire owner in the league.

E. Kane would be a great player to have, but getting him may cause more harm to the club long term than good between the ill-will it would engender as well as the potentially hobbling cap hit and cost either in assets or draft picks. There have to be better options out there.

Perhaps the offers from the NHL were for him to go F~~~ himself.

I would be curious to know what he thinks his market value is.

Per Dreger, Preds match the offer for Weber. Unless they got a great trade with Philly, they had to, would have been terrible for their organization.

We ain't gettin Kane but I still think we should trade Kesler for Benn. Might have to toss in extra's but that is the Bold Move Gillis has to make.

So 23-year-old Weise gets his first one-way contract.

27-year-old Volpatti and 29-year-old Ebbet are on two-way contracts.

Nice cap hit for a semi-established 4th liner ($605K).

I hope Weise is taking fighting lessons over the summer....

It ain't gonna get much better than that HW.

I'm just elated to have the NHL's star punching bag inked to a new contract.

Amen - he's needing to spend his whole summer honing his fighting skills. I like his willingness to drop the gloves and he's game for most mid to heavy weights, but what was his won-loss record last year? 1-7? I don't think that's going to put the fear in opponents when they try and take liberties with our star players...

There is a thread over at Hockeysfuture that says there is a rumour floating out there that a Canadian team is about to Offer Sheet Jamie Benn. Could be a bunch fluff as it always is but hey, let's play with this dream for a while now that the Weber and Schultz dreams are over....maybe this is the 'bold move'?
