...so I get home yesterday afternoon, putter around the house, eventually go for a run, make up some turkey burgers and BBQ them, sit down to eat and turn the tv on.

The channel happens to be on CBC and I know I said I was done with the playoffs but there was around 5 minutes left in the third and it was obviously still 1-1.

So I watch.

With 2 1/2 minutes left Chimera brushes up against Boychuks back who goes down like he was shot with a 12 gauge, I'm watching the ref who does nothing, uunntttilllll, fan reaction, decision made, arm goes up, penalty.

Now I don't know what the rest of the game looked like foul wise (i.e. what was let go et cetera) but I do check and am far from surprised to see power plays are 3-1 Bruins after this cheap ass late game call. 1-1 game 7 for Crissakes and they do this shit?

So did the ref finally realize where he was and who the teams were or does he have an earphone with the league office saying call that call that call that in it...

Whatever the reason it was fucking lame and solidifies the decision behind not watching these morons screw up a good thing.

....watching the Bruins lose made it all somewhat worthwhile however.

They still have our Cup though so it still sucks.

It appears Boston has the most difficulties with teams that haven't travelled 3 times more and can ice a relatively healthy lineup. :P

It also appears Chicago has a hard time competing in the playoffs when their opponent is on to their food poisoning game plan.
The Yotes were smart they probably packed their own food so nobody could slip the shit finger into it.

That penalty pissed me off royally.

What an incredibly bad penalty to call with 3 minutes to go in a game 7.

What ref needs to be fired!!! Or at least reprimanded severely by a wet noodle beating. :D

Kudos to Dale Hunter for not completely losing it, kudos to Washington for killing off the penalty and kudos to Joel Ward for winning it in OT.

Ward was huge for the Preds last year. Good to see him doing well for the Caps.

Did they ever find proof of that?

I had to laugh, after the year of complaining about the Canucks "crying & whining", the Boston & Chicago fans have been calling into sports radio all day whining about missed penalty calls.

Boo hoo, is that a violin I hear playing?

So great to see the B's lose last night, and the racist tweet reaction to Ward's gaol did not surprise me in the least. Anyone who knows this city's racial history, I can attest this is all existing only barely beneath the surface of the city still. Having lived in NYC for 10 years and now Boston for 11 the difference on this is striking...so happy they lost.

Boston Canucker is that true? Racism is that obvious in Boston?

I guiess I must be the most naive person on the planet, its just hard for me to believe that there is that many people with that kind of hatred toward people just because of the colour of their skin.

I did see a documentary recently, I believe on PBS, saying that racism in the northern states has overtaken the southern states. Wow, makes me glad I live in a tolerant society like we have in Canada. Plus we have a better hockey team than the Boston Bums.

I was on a snorkelling trip in Feb. It was a small boat, maybe 15 people plus crew. We did the obligatory introductions and these three young pups said they were from somewhere in Mass, outside of Boston. I thought nothing of it and then it was my turn. I said , "Hi, I'm Hockey Widow ( not really, I used my name) and I am from Vancouver. Well, young pup number one is all like " Oh FUCK. Oh FUCK, I hate that shit, Fucking shit on a boat with that Fuck." And he would't let up. I got abused for a good 10 minutes and sworn at and cussed out and was told I was a diving fucking pussy and on and on until young pup 2, his older brother, told him to stop and then sort said sorry, just that Vancouver is so fucking disgusting and we hate those guys. I mean I'm a little old lady and I can tell you the others on the boat were in total shock, as was I.

But after the dive the bar was open and the drinks flowed and then as I walk past young pup one he threw his rye and coke in my face and called me a fucking puke! Really. They fucking won!!! He obviously missed that part.

But revenge is sweet. It was Super Bowl Weekend and I ran into them in a bar Super Bowl Sunday just as New England lost. I laughed and laughed and laughed at pup number 1 who I thought might kill me he was so enraged, like it was my fault. I actually had to take a cab back to my hotel, which the pub insisted I do and they paid for it. I was escorted to the cab by two big Hawaiian dudes. Cool.

True story but not for one second did I believe that they represented Boston fans or Bostonians in general. Maybe I was wrong..eh?

Begs to differ, do people judge on basis of skin colour or where they are from or their allegiance to a fucking hockey team?! :? prejudices run the gauntlet. Good on you HW, Karma is a bitch and patience is her hot twin sister 8-)

Was in 'loops for a conference in early April, a known attention whore was wandering the trade show floor in a Tim Thomas jersey. Mission accomplished.
