^Mary Ann was always hotter than Ginger anyways.

But until I posted that pic I hadn't realized the Julia Louise Dryfuss resemblance before.

(don't you just hate it when you decide not to quote a post and opt for the ^ and your post ends up at the top of a new page?)

Hey, I thought we all agreed to stop calling him Ginger seeing how much he detests that term?

Now grow the hell up and start referring to him as Mary-Ann like we discussed.

I doubt it. CS is an RFA. It would be entirely reasonable for a GM to throw $6.2 million at him --- that's (approximately) the cap for first, second, and third in compensation. For straight up trade value, I don't think it would be irrational for a GM to feel comfortable giving up 2 first round picks plus lower picks, meaning the offer sheet should climb, so long as cap space is not a major issue. Teams are paying that and more for goaltending if they think they've got a Vezina caliber player, CS has more of a potential to be that than any other available goalie. That's a pretty risky contract given the relative lack of experience, but I really don't think it is entirely out of bounds to think CS is as good as Rinne.

So if the Canucks choose CS, they would be foolish not to sign a long term contract with CS upon completing the Luongo transaction. And that is going to cost a good deal of money, quite possibly more than Luongo's cap hit. No matter what, this all has to happen before July 1.

am I wrong in thinking that cap issues are irrelevant until Oct?
They can match whatever for CS and still hold RL's contract through the summer as long as they get under the cap before the start of next season?

it seems MG holds all the right cards with this .

Luo to Tampa for Hedman. We fulfil a need and so do Tampa.

As I said many times, Hedman would be a nice fit here, especially with his cap hit. To sweeten the pot, MG could throw in Raymond... :P

according to Burke the offer was Burrows and Bieksa for the opportunity to draft Hedman.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Tampa wont trade Hedman, he is likely next to Stamkos on their untouchable list.

Lots of forward depth and a good prospect pool on that team, they will put together an offer built around those assets.

Did that come out in that TV story where they showed Burke working the phones?

Or is this yet another classless act of tampering and naming names?

Schneider is still eligible for arbitration, so the Canucks can exercise arbitration right prior to July 1 and still work out a deal, plus he's protected from offer sheets. If you were trading him, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd would be pretty reasonable return given the market for goalies.

So Luongo is willing to waive his NTC if asked. Gillis said he won't ask a player to waive his NTC.

Of course, Gillis will sit down with Luongo to see how he feels. I can see Gillis asking Luongo if he would prefer to go somewhere else and be the undisputed starter.

Okay then, Lou/Edler/Raymond for Vinny/Hedman.

I'll call you late tonight and give you an hour or so to decide.

Lots of Lecavalier talk.

I don't think Vinny is going anywhere. He is happy in the sun and fun of Tampa Bay.

Certainly his contract value and duration is outside of what GMMG was talking about today.

Wait, WHAT?

Luongo HAS trade value?!?!

No fucking shit.

From people suggesting we should waive him, to reporters and bloggers concerned over his trade value, the pundits in the "know" have now vindicated what was already obvious in my mind.

The Canucks could trade Luongo on the first day the trade freeze lifts, and it will include a nice return.

Personally, I've maintained we should find a way to keep both goalies, whether that happens or not is unclear.
