So 2.5 or the road as I understand it.

I say qualify him and then trade him for a second round pick

They tried hard to move him at the deadline and couldn't. Maybe the off season will be different.

A lot of teams interested in adding a Raymond may not be looking to add at the deadline (or have the specific asset a team wants at the deadline in return). Summer does open up further opportunities.

He can sign a deal for a lower number, but can choose to go as UFA if he doesn't accept.
I think it's around 110% of salary to qualify a RFA, so $2.8 mil or more

Do we think that Raymond is worth twice as much as Hansen? :?

I'm just reluctant to sign on for 3 years or so at around $2.8+ mil and we get more of what we got this year.

I'm thinking that Raymond is a 3rd or 4th line winger, so unless he has a much better year then it's way too much for a bottom 6 winger

I can't believe some folks are still interested in keeping MayRay around.

Even at NHl minimum wage I wouldn't want that bum on my team!

Schneider for Nash please. Edler & Booth for Weber.

Sedin - Sedin - Nash
Burrows - Kesler - Kassian
Higgins - Lappy - Hansen
Duco - Bitz - Weise

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Ballard - Weber
Rome/Grags - Tanev

The team can elect to take Raymond to arbitration instead of giving him a qualifying offer. I still think Gillis should look to move Raymond. Maybe a high 2nd round pick would be worth it.

A high second for Raymond!

You must be dreaming.

Probably because they were being offered a bag of pucks. It's not such a smart transaction to sell something when it's value is low due to some sort of injury that nearly chaired him for the rest of his life. I mean, are we surprised that the guy keeps falling down? Ya just think that maybe, hey, his poor play just might have something to do with the injury and just maybe, just maybe he can regain his former glory if people slack up on the rope they are currently giving him???

Blame Raymond

No shit. Raymond, he's accomplished a lot already for his career. No one expected him to make it and no one expected him to even make more than minmum wage a year in the big league. But enough is enough, the dude is simply not good enough nor gritty enough.

Only if good ol' Clarke is 30 years younger eh? Doc

Great trade, not because we get Weber, it's because we get rid of the dumb heathen himself - Booth.

Hate the fact that he endorses Vigneault the way he does. Is he blind? Usually stats are telling and worth going on, but to hell with them this time, the guy can't adapt and get wins out of the deepest team in the league when they face a tough defense.
