Re: Time to clean up hockey petition
What I wrote in the comments section:
"The disgusting elbow by Duncan Keith on Daniel Sedin was an obviously malicious attack with no possible other intent than to take a star player out of the game just before the playoffs.
A two minute minor called on the ice and the subsequent 5 game suspension were pure bush league.
Then the paltry fine to Weber for deliberately smashing Datsyuk's face into the glass was a complete joke.
If the NHL was serious about cleaning up the game and getting rid of headshots to protect the players these types of non-hockey plays would be severely punished.
Keith should have been gone for the first round of the playoffs at least and Weber sat for a game or two."

One of those damn Wings.

Hrmmm, clicked the link with the intention to sign, but then I read:
I know people are pissed - I am too - but if people want to truly threaten the NHL with boycotts of choice, you have to do it from a credible platform.
Sorry, but that petition is dead in the water.
I don't know how this petition expects to gain any legitimate traction when it makes a ludicrous suggestion like this.- Video replay on ANY play. Get rid of the 4 officials on the ice. It's time to automate refereeing. If necessary, keep one on the ice to drop the puck and pick it up and have 2 bouncers on skates on standby ready to jump in to break something up. Apparently the officials don't see anything anyway and they simply contribute to the problem of retaliation when calls aren't made. Have a team of officials watching video and live play right at the boards and let them blow the whistle when they see something. This can be used for any call...offside, icing, etc.

They're all dead in the water sorry to say.wienerdog wrote: Sorry, but that petition is dead in the water.
The revolution won't be big enough to make a dent in a pig headed league/board of governors.
Plus they have pretty much demonstrated they could fukin care less about a fans opinion.
Round and round we'll go.
Carry on....

But will it be televised?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
