Interesting turn of events. We all wanted AV to have a shorter leash this year but to pull Luongo when he has played well and then stick with Cory for game 4 was unexpected somewhat. I have no problem with the decision. We need a new hero right about now and what a great story this would make if we come back and win the next four.

But my question is this: if the Canucks win the next four who starts for round 2? :D :D

And no, this is not Av's decision. I think AV's higher power has spoken to him. But AV will reap the rewards or suffer the consequences.
The only HW the Canucks need

Schneider.......and you keep coming with Schneider until he shits the bed.......and then you go with Lou.

I think fans are making too big a deal about the goaltending situation. I myself was guilty of this. You have to go with the hot hand. In the 96/97 playoffs, the Redwings did this with Mike Vernon and Chris Osgood and it worked very well. Osgood played a lot in the playoffs, but it was Vernon that backstopped the Wings in their 4-0 sweep of the Flyers that year.

Unless V wins the next 4 games.....at which point, everyone will lick his gonads.

Sure, goes without saying, but when the guys upstairs start making decisions for you, lame duckage ain't far behind...

Could this be gamesmanship on the Nucks part and Lou is in fact starting?

This was done last year in round one I believe.

Anyway a few hours to find out.

Sounds like the guy upstairs has a plan. A not so subtle nudge toward the door for #1. It has become quite plain during the regular season that Schneider is too good to let go.

Definitely. I wonder if that is actually the case though? (i.e. the guy upstairs making this decision for Vigneault).

I know I've said this a few times (apology in advance to Cornuck ;) ), but I'd like to see Kesler and Hank play on the same line tonight for a few shifts if the offense continues to struggle.

Either Higgins-H.Sedin-Kesler or D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Kesler if Daniel is in the line-up. No one passes the puck better than Hank and no one hogs a puck and ignores his linemates better than Kes. :P

If somebody had thought to ask Booth, we could have settled this a long time ago.

Christian Erhoff could also have been consulted.

(har har har har har! :D ).

Sorry guys - just trying to kill time before the game.

I thought lame duckage wasn't far behind when they hired T-Mac; who short of AV at least going to game 7 in the semi finals, will be our coach to begin next season.

I hope there's someone better out there than Craig MacTavish.

I wonder if Pat Quinn would be a good option? Quinn might be in his 80's (or 60's, 70's....same thing), but I think he can still mentally function well enough to take on the responsibilities of a full-time NHL coach.

I'm thinking the Nucks were going to use Luo at home and ginger on the road regardless of what happened.
