You got a wonder about a GM who picks up three players from a losing organization.

Samuelsson is flying out there. Looks great.

HA!

Maybe it had to do with the signings of Fleischmann, Bergenheimm and Upshall. Aslo the trades for Campbell, Kopecky and Versteeg.

It's not just Sammy and Sturm that turned this team around. They're a completely different team from last year.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Torres absolutely destroys Hossa.

Seabrook last year. Hossa this year.

He's the Blackhawk killer.

And... shit just got real in this series.

Based on how Hossa was carried off the ice, I can't see him returning anytime soon.

No Hossa, No Shaw. Being outshot 12 to 6 by the Dogs at home in the first.

Watching the Hawks struggle gives me great joy.

Detroit / Preds game reminds me of the last Canuck / Kings game.

Wings dominate the entire game and Preds score an opportunistic goal.

Torres is the man. 8-)

We should never have let him go.

I hate the Shithawks as much as anybody on here, but I will not cheer when a player gets hurt like that. We should be above all this crap that going on in the NHL. Torres is going to get the book thrown at him and he deserves it. Christ, talk about players who dont show any respect. Torres is no different than Keith. Absolutely brutal.

"Latest: Hossa was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and released shortly thereafter. He underwent a series of tests that 'yielded positive results'. Is is being monitored by Hawks medical staff at home."

On the views I have, it is hard to tell what part of Torres hits Hossa, and what part of Hossa is initially hit, ie I can't tell if it was his head or his upper chest, that was hit first, and whether it was a forearm or elbow or shoulder hitting him.

Quennville claimed that it was charging. It looks to me like Torres is gliding in, not striding in and Torres turns into him to make the hit. I can't tell if Torres leaves his feet before he contacts Hossa, or if it is at the same time he contacts him, but Torres is definitely off his feet at some point, so perhaps charging is a fair call. Is it a late hit? Torres glides past the puck which is going to another Chicago player as he goes to hit Hossa, and he definitely makes no move towards the puck. As he hits Hossa, the other player has the puck, but then the other player is not very far away, and although I didn't try to time it, it looks too fast to be .5 sec or more late to me.

To me this looks like the same kind of hit that Brown delivered on Henrik Sedin, except Brown didn't appear to leave his feet at any point.

It will be interesting to see what the league office does with this one. Torres is playing pretty well for Phoenix and they will definitely miss him if he gets suspended. But if he has knocked Hossa out of the series, Phoenix will likely be contrite outwardly but privately be very happy, just like Chicago with Keith knocking out Daniel.
