Conflict is entertaining. That’s why the media works so hard generating it.

They wouldn't have to generate much here, they would simply shine a spotlight on the fact that you are having difficulty comprehending the first paragraph.
clem wrote: Since deliberately shooting the puck out of the playing area from their D zone is cause for a penalty, & players don’t want to be penalized, it’s not rational to assume that players intentionally do this.
What about the whole 5 minutes for fighting business? Or 2 minutes for cross-checking or slashing? Or why haul a guy down on a breakaway? No rational player would want to take a penalty so why would they do something like that?

Your argument is flawed.

Very bush league.

The discussion was about
A minor penalty for delay of game shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who deliberately shoots or bats (using his hand or his stick) the puck outside the playing area during the play or after a stoppage of play.
Unless the referee can find fighting, cross checking & slashing to be accidental (& allow them)- they aren’t relevant here.

Just when it looked like the Pens were all over the Flyers,

Bryz makes a crazy ass save on Letang, the Flyers score a shorty and its once again, anyones game.

The refereeing for the Flyers/Pens game has been outstanding.

Linesmen are sharp and the refs aren't whistle happy. They're letting the players play and overlooking the little stuff.

Great game to watch.

It is a clear violation of the rules and deliberately targeted Zetterberg's head. Injury or not, if you are indeed serious about removing head shot injuries from the game, that is an offence worthy of a suspension.
And when the league doesn't act, the team must.

Too bad the Red Wings don't have a player like Bertuzzi... er... waitaminute... :o

It is what it is, eh?

Nashville wins, Detroit had their chances and owned the 3rd. Nashville was good, but they were lucky, too.

This Pen-Flyers game is getting intense. Even Crosby got a fighting penalty - Asham's gone, Letang's gone, Timonen's gone .

Seriously who saw the Pens imploding this badly? I picked them thinking that Briere was out for the series - what a difference he's making!

I still have a creeping suspicion that they'll come back to win this game now that the shoe is on the other foot but Marc-Andre Fleury's making it real hard on them!

If Asham gets anything less than five games Shanny should be dismissed.

What a filthy dirty play .
