Maybe, I was more referring to the emotion of the whole situation.

I think it would turn out to be very entertaining.

Well then, wouldn't you want the two party teams to meet up before that? Nashville Tennessee versus Los Angeles California?!

Nah, that series has a potential to blow.

Yeah, I don't think either of these players has a realistic chance of ending up in Vancouver, so I'd like them to stay (Parise) and move (Suter) east.

It doesn't seem like Suter will be staying in Nashville, but who knows. Nashville is right up there with the best teams in the league, so I think it will come down to money. With the annual Lidstrom question marks, Detroit seems like as good of a destination as any for Suter. As everybody knows, he'd look great on all 30 teams.

As far as Parise goes, let's just hope the Devils go on a good run here which gives their captain a strong desire to stay. New Jersey also has $20M+ in cap space next year so they should be able to get a deal done if Parise wants to stay. Boy would I love to see what Parise would look like with either of our top lines... :)

I'd hate them forever more if they got both, because I'm jealous of their successes/championships.

I can see Detroit signing Suter no problem as he'd replace Rafalski.
Holland will probably give him a Zetterberg like contract. 12 years - $75Mish.

Bettman is having wet dreams of a NY/LA final, he'll sell his soul  and pay off all the ref's to make this happen I bet.

I would bet hard earned money that LA vs Phoenix.

Mike Smith is just too good and the Pred's offense just isn't there. I foresee the Preds going to be the classic case of a Russian superstar comes back to the fold, lures fellow Russian into night of debauchery, fucks the entire harmony of the team and team gets swept. Maybe not classic but everyone knows that you're rolling the dice when you're taking a Russian onto your team.

When you're a punk like Radulov, it's tough being disciplined for the entire NHL playoffs. Anyone can get motivated to beat Detroit because everyone wants to beat Detroit. Phoenix is a different beast altogether. There's absolutely no space out there and Mike Smith is a god damn machine.

No way Preds are coming back and St Louis has some serious goaltending issues that aren't going to magically disappear.

Unfortunately, I had the exact same line of thought when I watched Boston/Tampa Bay last year. The level of play in the Canucks/Sharks series was significantly greater than Bruins/Lightning and I just couldn't see any of those teams pushing us. Fuck. Still breaks my heart.

Anyways - the point I'm trying to make is that injuries can obviously change the entire complexion.

The Kings look extremely dominant right now, and clearly look like the best team in the West, but it can all go to shit if they run into health problems.

But aside from that - I completely agree. The Kings are the team to beat right now, and I'll be surprised if they don't take the cup this year.

Dustin Brown, like him or not, is absolute clutch.
RIP Creeper. You will be missed.

Agreed, they got 4 good centermen, some snipers on the side, decent defense and an Conn Smythe goalie playing.
DB is on mission! St. Louis should smash him New Orleans Saint style.

As good as LA has been Smith for Phoenix is my early bet for MVP. He stoned Chicago and he has stoned the Preds. Should LA and Phoenix meet I think Smith might steal that series too. Phoenix really is only where they are at because of his play. LA on the other hand has a more complete team but Quick has not had to steal too many games. Don't get me wrong he has played great hockey but Smith just a little better.

I do think LA has the more complete team but I think Smith is capable of stealing the series.

My three early candidates for MVP:
Smith
Holtby
Giroux

I'd add Ryan Callahan, The guy is a stud, Holtby is a nice story, Giroux is showing signs of fading and I have to believe Quick ranks over Smith
