ESPN Chicago says it's a phone hearing tomorrow. Shitty deal.

I hope Shanny remembers that Rome got 4 games during the SCF for what was deemed a clean, but late hit. Given that this was not clean, a deliberate attempt to injure, and without the puck being there, I'd assume that Keith gets 8 games, as suspensions during the playoffs are unofficially considered to be 2 for 1.

On a happier note, the NFL hammered the Saints for their Bounty program. Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely. Sean Payton gets an entire season!! If The Count was serious about making Hockey better, he'd be using the NFL as an example, and tell Shanny that this is a 20 game suspension. Now, with his NBA style marketing, he needs to have the voice overs redone to replace "Danial Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks come to town" with someone who ain't injured. If you are going to mopdel yourself after another system, why not pick the best one in the world, instead of the #3 or #4 best????

I think Shanahan has already said he won't take into account any previous precidents as they were made by other people. However, he did make a clear precident early this season by giving Wisniewski 8 games. But, we all know Shanahan has been neutered by the league or the GMs and he's been forced to pull back the reigns of justice.

Mike Murphy even said at the time he handed down Rome's decision that he didn't care about previous precident, it was his decision to make and the just felt in deserved 4 games.

Dan Murphy tweeted this afternoon that Daniel texted him and confirmed he does not have any previous concussion history. I take that as good news that he's texting media guys and that he has no history.

I, for one, don't care what Keith gets as it does not change Dan's status. To get yourself in a lather about such things when the NHL is making the decision is fruitless. From what I see, keeping Keith in the lineup means a better chance Chicago will face Nashville or Detroit in the first round over Dallas.

Why give Keith a rest before the playoffs and give him Dallas. Sounds like a prize instead of a punishment.

meh less than or more than 5 games doesn't mean squat to the Canucks. The league's officiating has long lost its credibility and respect. For Keith, hey, a great rest before the playoffs grind!

It's reported that Daniel will most likely be out for at least 2 weeks so AV and his players better wake up.

Where's Dude? This probably presents a best opportunity to him to jump in and grieve about the departure of Karl Lindros Jr. until the end of season.

Though this incident does remind me a lot of Naslund/Moore incident. Let's hope Sedin comes back as himself.

I am teetering right on a the very edge now of choosing to spend my precious mental resources elsewhere than the NHL. This League is so full of shit I can smell Head Office from here in Vancouver.

O'Halloran is the same ref that allowed Marchand to punch Daniel several time in the face in last year's Final.

It doesn't sound like Daniel is even back in Vancouver yet, so I have no idea how anyone can 'report' on his status.

Sadly, that's how I felt after the Boston series, and I'm guessing that this year's playoffs will push me over the edge.

The odd part about this incident is that I can understand why Keith wanted to get back at Sedin - but everything after that is inexplicable ---- the stupid and incompetent refs, and a complete and different effect on the game as opposed to if it was reffed correctly.

Oh, and I didn't know that Keith was such a coward and douchenozzle:

Vancouver Sun

excerpt
"I think on that play, I haven't seen the replay so it's tough for me to comment too much," Keith said. "I'm not trying to hurt anybody. I hope he's okay, he's one of their best players. He needs to be on the ice. But the puck was up in the air, and from what I remember, I'm trying to close my gap and have a good gap on him, right at the last second he moves forward and I don't know where the puck is.

"It's fast and like I said, I hope he's okay. I haven't seen the replay. I need to see it again."

When you do something like this, you just say no comment. Don't sit and lie - that's insulting and indicative of your character - which is now revealed to be = douchenozzle.

Would bet heavily Canucks are arguing behind scenes that Keith suspension should compare to Rome's. A lot of lobbying from both teams.

FriedgeHNIC
Imagine Canucks without Daniel or Hawks without Keith. Both incredibly important players and teams will push Shanahan hard.

FriedgeHNIC
Remember: Shanahan doesn't have to suspend for more than 5, so he could be doing this just to have the option.
