Agreed 95% are in support of HW.

I'm just wondering who is Yinka? that savage/chug (I'm allowed to say that, as I am one) who got owned here before.

Who is driving the bus here, Gillis or the father? I don't care if Coho's father is some big shot politician in Ontario. If I were Gillis, I would of taken a Brian Burke type of approach to the issue. Coho does not have the same clout as a Lindros who was a #1 pick and highly touted for a long time. Coho was like what a #10 pick? Most guys picked around there are lucky to make the NHL.

Anyways, I'd say... first off, I'm not going to let u slam the right wingers on my team. Cody played good chunks of the season with Booth/Hansen/Raymond on the right side. I'll be the first to admit they're not superstars in any way, but they are solid NHL players and I would argue they are a reason why Cody experienced some success as a rookie.

Secondly, we luv Cody here. He's a big part of our future and he's learning his craft from 3 of the best centres in the league, all of whom have something that Cody can learn from. Hank (hart trophy winner), Kes (selke winner) and Malhotra (faceoff specialist). Hank is not going to be here forever and it's going to be a 1-2 punch of Coho/Kes in a few years. Just bid your time and u will get your chance as a top player with a fat contract. Right now, we have a chance at a stanley cup and we want u to be part of it. How many great players in the NHL never had a chance to play for a true contender? Think about it.

Lastly, as far as playing time goes, I leave that all to AV. He decides when, where and how much Cody plays. All Coho has to do is lace up his skates and play his heart out when AV taps him on the shoulder. Other than that, u and I would add myself have no say. I will be glad to talk to u about Coho's development and ice time 3 times a year: training camp, mid-way point of season and off season. After that, if u come to talk about your kid's ice time, I'm just going to hang up on u. And no, u cannot talk to AV. I shelter him from all distractions. He just focuses on winning with the players that I give him, if he thinks Cody will help us win by using him on the PP or PK, I'm sure Cody will be put there. U keep bugging me about your kid's ice time and I'll send him to the minors, TRY ME. U can request a trade, but I will only do so if I want to and if it's something that I think will help the team. Other than that, Coho is going to play for the Canucks and will be used as my coach sees fit. Now, is there anything else I can help u with?

So the Canucks were not in a hurry to trade him and did try, in their opinion, everything they could to see how he could better fit now. Bottom line was that the Hodgson camp was not prepared to do their time and this is money driven. So the Canucks parted with Cody because they could and in doing so got rid of a big headache called dad.

If he took the Brian Burke approach it would have made for better headlines in the Province Sports

This might make sense if the complaints about ice time were the only issue.

Issues around fit, versatility, defense and actual long term potential appeared to be bigger issues that complaints about ice time.

Some might say Hodgson's value would never be higher after the team was able mask his deficiencies with protected minutes this season.

Perhaps Gillis felt he was selling high more than getting rid of a headache.

Yeah, maybe. But I personally really liked the way Cody Hodgs was developing and would not have moved him. I watch him now as a rookie and he looks way better than the Sedins and Kes @ that stage. I was never really impressed with the Sedins and Kes when they were rookies, but Coho makes say, wow in a first year player! Probably the only other rookie that excited fans was Bure and Linden a bit. I'm not saying Coho is @ the same lvl as Bure, but he does things that catches your eye. We always knew Cody had good vision to pass the puck, but where did that big league shot come from? His skating was always a bit questionable, but he is looking quite a bit faster than last year and seems a lot stronger on the puck. He's doing things like scoring big goals, putting up points and earning a spot on the roster which is pretty impressive on our lineup. Will that translate that Coho will become a better player than the Sedins & Kes down the road? Maybe, but it really is hard to say.

As one of the Canuck panelist said (Macintyre?) when we had Cody, we had 3 lines that could potentially score. With Pahlson instead, it's a bit of a gamble because we become more of a 2 scoring line and 2 checking line team. Will that make us better for the playoffs? Maybe. As of now, we traded a scoring threat for a 4th line hitter in Kassian. Kassian maybe more than a 4th liner in the future, but he's a 4th liner right now. The thing is, we have guys who can play that 4th line hitting role in Weise, Bitz and Oreskovich. I think it would of been nice to have Cody around to insert into the lineup to change to 3 scoring lines with 1 checking line to give us more versitility against certain teams/matchups in the playoffs.

A friend of mine told me Luongo is seperated from his wife. She's back in Florida and he's living in an apt by himself here. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Interesting stuff. He is going through some serious relationship shit, on again off again kinda stuff, right now it is on again which may explain his poor play ( :D :D :D ) Although the Canucks will publicly deny this, if a trade could have been made deadline day he may have been gone.
