I love this trade, I see Booth as maybe doing what Patrick Sharp did for Chicago when the Flyers gave up on him and being that guy for us. The guy has a real nose for the net and may excel in a hotbed hockey environment, playing on good hockey team. He's got speed and plays on the edge should by all accounts be a 30 goal guy,. I think him and his buddy Kesler may turn out to be quite the scarey combo out there.

Not closing the book on my hopefulness for Booth, however, I am concerned that he is a religious man.

I think that any player who comes into Vancouver needs to have his stats looked at and then the expectations of said stats dropped by about 10-15 points over the course of the year. This team scores by committee.

I'm not so sure that is correct. The Canucks have been a high scoring team the past few years and I can't think of too many players who saw their offensive production decrease after joining their Canucks (the only player I can think of is Keith Ballard). Obviously, a player who is used to getting 4-5 more minutes a game with 1st unit PP time will likely see a decrease in production rather than an increase in production after joining the Canucks, but if you look at the players acquired by Gillis over the past few years, pretty much all of them have either maintained their production or increased it. In many ways, Gillis has acquired few underachievers who didn't underachieve elsewhere.

If anything, it's the reverse. Players leaving the Canucks are expected to have worse stats unless they end up with a bigger offensive role. For example, the consensus was that Ehrhoff would put up less points after leaving the Canucks and that was true because Ehrhoff benefitted from playing with the Sedins.
