I'm not so sure that is correct. The Canucks have been a high scoring team the past few years and I can't think of too many players who saw their offensive production decrease after joining their Canucks (the only player I can think of is Keith Ballard). Obviously, a player who is used to getting 4-5 more minutes a game with 1st unit PP time will likely see a decrease in production rather than an increase in production after joining the Canucks, but if you look at the players acquired by Gillis over the past few years, pretty much all of them have either maintained their production or increased it. In many ways, Gillis has acquired few underachievers who didn't underachieve elsewhere.

If anything, it's the reverse. Players leaving the Canucks are expected to have worse stats unless they end up with a bigger offensive role. For example, the consensus was that Ehrhoff would put up less points after leaving the Canucks and that was true because Ehrhoff benefitted from playing with the Sedins.

It went south real quick after that post, regarding my thinkings on David 'bear baitin from way up high up in a tree with a high powered rifle dressed in camouflage' Booth. I fell for all the pre-hype hoopla comin' out of Florida, just the same as it was for Ballard.

Soooo, basically you're saying you can't judge another team's player for shit until he comes and plays a few games for us?

If you did it with Booth and Ballard, dude, who else are you doing it with?

Not helping your case, Holmes.

Funny that's what I said about Garrison. don't judge until you see the product. Never buy a car without kicking the tires and giving it a test drive ........I got dumped on ...apparently many posters already understand what this guy is going to turn out to be

I bought a truck outta the states without ever seeing it other than in pictures! Best vehicle I've ever purchased and I wish I still had it. If you do your homework oh low how to minimize your risk.

Oh also can you explain how exactly you test drive another teams player that is now an UFA before signing him to a contract?

Giving it a test drive ???? How many teams give a prospective player they would like to aquire, either by free agency or trade, a test drive ? How would a team go about doing this ???? Damn right you should get dumped on. Fred you go back to the other cc days too if I'm not mistaken. You never used to be a troll but now you want to be ??? It's all good to change up your shtick and your persona but you don't seem to be the trolling type amigo.

I'm thinking you are more an attention whore or a masochist because some of these inane ramblings are out of the left field bleachers to say the least.

I don't see myself as trolling ? ( if I new what trolling was ) I just don't get swept up by others opinions, when I've seen Garrison I'll decide if I like what he brings or not. Now if you think that's trolling or out of left field, attention whore or masochist that's your that's your opinion. I made the mistake of stating that Ballard was a good acquisition and I ain't going to make that mistake twice. It's called growing up in my book but if infantile remarks is your schtick hey your choice :D

RD - can you explain how Florida won this deal?

Samuelsson:
35 years old, 2.5 million
54 Games 14G 17A 31PTS

Sturm:
33 years old, 2.25 million
48 Games 3G 2A 5PT

IN:
AGE: 34 (avg)
$$$: 4.75 million (tot)
PPG: .339 (avg)

Samuelsson is now a Red Wing (FLA got nothing for him)
Sturm is a UFA and is most likey done as well

Booth:
27 years old, 4.5 million
62 Games 16G 14A 30PTS

OUT:
Age: 7 years younger + a 3rd round pick next year
$$$: 250K less
PPG: .145 more
