I guess he decided flip over to columnist when it came to the Burrows situation.

we should have a "what do you think of Ron Maclean" thread, we could finally ALL agree on something...how boring. :drink:

Cherry's lapdog doesn't criticise his bosses on national TV. The loose canon is gone.

I am 61 and have been a canuck fan from way back when we had a team in the WHL with a great player named Phil Maloney if I remember right. Don Cherry is a part of HNIC to me and has been for a long time. His schtick is acting like an American while saying he is Canadian and proud of it. I do not mind him much. Did not like his dog. Glad it grew up into Ron McLean. Wait. On second thought maybe Blue was the brightest of the two. I remember what the Habs of the 70's did to Cherry's Bruins. I suspect Don still has nightmares about Guy streaking down the wing, his hair flying and wiring a shot over Cheever's shoulder to win AGAIN. Don has PTHD or Post traumatic Habs Disorder and it has made him grumpy and aggressive when around McLean. Of course, Ron Mclean is the archetypal 'punk' and I would have loved to see him explain his position on Burrows to all the Hockey fans in the BC Pen system. I wonder if he could get pregnant? I wonder what position he would be in while talking?

I have never met a canadian who is as loud and obnoxious as Cherry but I do admire his entertainment value. I think a lot of viewers look forward to him coming on each Saturday. He knows hockey also though he is no Meeker when it comes to the game. howie knew the game and he could play at a star pace. Looked like a goofball but then looks are deceiving as the cliche goes. Cherry is patriotic in a Yank way. Most of us Canucks prefer to keep our love for country under wraps so we do not sound like Yanks. We love the Country. just do not crow about it. Cherry does it for us and we love it. I live in NY and I miss HNIC. Watch it whenever i am in country.

He played a mean trumpet, but I'm more partial to his kids Eagle-eye and Neneh.

Yup. Or 7 seconds. And her half bro is perhaps best known for Save Tonight.

Is Spotify available in Canada yet? :eh:

Yeah I like Save Tonight. Good tune...

And I thought Don Cherry's son's name was Tim who wrote the screen play for this TV biopic on CBC.

I was a big fan of Grapes, and sometimes, he is still right about some of his points, but I firmly believe the game has passed Don Cherry by. Too bad, one thing is for certain, he's always colourful.

Once you see through the bluster, there's not a lot left. He's confrontational for the sake of being confrontational. I can't see the attraction. I'd rather have an astute non partisan ex player or GM. Exit left Don

That's pretty much it. Don's defenders call that bluster "courage to speak his mind" which is such a load of garbage it's hard to know whether you should laugh at them or hug them.

I wonder if Don will dedicate any time to Iginla crying about non-headbutts during a fight against a guy that doesn't fight? Johnson got a 5 minute major for nothing because creased forehead cried about it. Come on Don, surprise me!

What? So you don't get electronic bills that you pay through your internet bank account?
You're surely pulling my leg, eh? :eh:

I actually used cheques when I was an exchange student in Iowa in 1982.
You say they are still around and in use? Hilarious!

The Finns and Japanese are actually already moving away from credit and debit cards and now pay with their cell phones.
You can pay some stuff here by cell phone, like parking and bus/train fare, but we're a bit behind in this area. :(
