I get the sense that Brent Sutter is not too happy with his team.

After they gave up a two goal lead and went to a shootout with the Wild he selected Matt Stajan, Lee Stempniak and Blair Jones, then Blake Comeau for the shootout - no Ollie Jokinen (career 46.7%), no Alex Tanguay (career 37.5%), no Jarome Iginla (career 25.7%) not one player scored and the team lost the skills comp (putting the Flames in danger of losing their fourth straight and falling to 10th in the West).

Afterwards Sutter was seen screaming while speaking to Jay Feaster after the game, then kicking the crap out of a trash can, he did not conduct the post game press conference.

What made it great was Comeau's awful attempt. Looked like a slumpy shouldered Naslund attempt.

This is how a Flames game goes once they get close to or in a playoff spot:

-Flames sleepwalk through the entire game and get destroyed

or

-Flames take an early multi-goal lead only to blow the lead and lose the game

While it looks odd with the shooter selection those other guys haven't been good this year either and haven't been winning them any shootouts. Including the previous game.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The Calgary Flames, the team that Iginla says has all the pieces to win [a Cup] with, lost 4-1 to Dallas and are now down to 6 games and sit 3 points out of the playoffs.

I'm sure glad they have all the pieces, I'd really feel bad for them if they were playing this hard, coming up short, but didn't actually have a shot at winning.

Tanguay, 32, past his prime.
Iginla, 34, past his prime.
Jokinen, 33, not really a first line center, past his prime.
Glencross, 29, is a solid 2nd/3rd line winger and that's all he is going to be.
Cammy, 29, needs a strong centerman to make him be all he can be. Sorta like how Neal is killing it because of Malkin. Guess what, Calgary doesn't have a strong 1a centerman. The last 1a centerman they had was Joe Nieuwendyk. That was in 94/95.

Darryl Sutter needs to go. Your organization needs to free itself of the Sutter influence or be mediocre forever.

Also, you fucking guys have wasted Iggy's career. Shame on you.

Love the post and hate to rain on your parade but Darryl's long gone! But yes, you're right Brent needs to go as well. I think you have to give Feaster the thumbs up to begin a rebuild. The problem is, it's really a couple of years too late. They could have gotten a much better return for Iginla if they'd acknowledged the inevitable two years ago. Same goes for Kipper. He's pretty much single-handedly prevented them from finishing in the bottom 3 of the league but is fading now due to being overworked.

They're really in tough. Look at the Bourque for Cammalleri deal. It's a great trade in terms of improving the team today but it's really all for naught as the Flames are going nowhere fast. Unlike many of their aging stars, he's still in his prime but won't be by the time the Flames ice a competitive team again. I guess they can always unload him for some younger talent but I'm guessing that wasn't the point of the trade.

hindsight is usually 20/20,but yeah Calgary should have announced a rebuild, moved iginla and Kiprisoff and sent both Sutters packing. They would have been farther ahead. Now they have wasted two seasons, and won't get anything for their aging stars.
