I thought that the Rangers/Devils game was great entertainment.

Staged fight or not, that opening faceoff set the tone for the entire game.

On a side note, I dont believe in the 'staged' fight when its 3 different pairs... I highly doubt that all 6 of them said.. 'you wanna go' at the same time...

Right. And when you watch TV, I bet you can't wait for the commercials... :eh:

The fighting is a side show. I prefer the main attraction - hockey!

If it's fighting you want, there's that whole UFC shit.

Fighting is part of the game of full contact North American hockey, just like penalties, offsides, inconsistent reffing, concussions and AHL-style toe drags.

You like watching hockey, then you gotta put up with the good and the bad. You see fighting as bad, I see fighting as good.

And yes, I'm a big fan of "that whole UFC shit" but I'm not a fan of boxing. Go figure. :)

You are not necessarily wrong in the grand scheme of things Per, buttt..

We grew up on this stuff over here, we like a bit of fighting in our hockey, 'tis the way it is.

(Well, a good portion of us anyway..)

I mean, you Euros are just different.

You like soccer.

And cricket.

Ya know?

:P

Radulov is apparently on his way to join Nashville.

Ken Holland is apparently pissed, but I don't mind it so much. Yes, Nashville gets to add a player after the deadline, but they've lost roster/contract spots for the past four years PLUS they are now burning a year of ELC and only getting a few reg season games and playoffs in return.

All things considered, I'd say its a fair trade-off for what Nashville has/is giving up.

Actually went to a Jamboree in Ireland when I was 14... A bunch of Irish boy scouts challenged us Swedes to a game of hurling, and we kicked their sorry asses!

OK, the game was new to us, but it had elements of street hockey in it, and on average we were about twice the size of the Irish kids our age ( which also helped if you wanted a beer in a pub, but I digress... ).

Yeah, I can't believe that never caught on...

Pens put up a touchdown and a 1 point conversion on the Jets.

Anyone scared of Pittsburgh?

Is anyone here watching the Kings and Sharks game on TSN2?

It's actually quite a good broadcast. Very exciting game and interesting commentary.

Well... interesting as in JR is a VERY good hockey strategy guy and Kevin Weekes is such a tool.

I was very impressed with JR's breakdown of what happened with the Shark team right before the goal that just happened. JR knew EXACTLY what went wrong to the tee.

Do we have any Canuck analysts that are like that?

And the hockey is really good.

Carter and Richards is killing it right now for the LA Kings but the Sharks aren't going away. It's very intense and like the playoffs!!!

This is fucking great hockey and makes me think that the Canucks are just faking it right now and WILL get it together for the playoffs. They have to ... right? :)

Niemi lets in a fucking back breaker. With that kind of goaltending, no way the Sharks get into the playoffs.

Wow, the entire team just stopped playing after that goal.

Very good game until that goal happened.

Check out the GDT on Hfboards when Niemi let in the soft one. Hah hah... stupid sharks.

So after Sid the Kid's 4 point effort last night he has 131 points in his last 82 games. The game of hockey needs him to stay healthy. What a player.

Garrett does a phenomenal job of breaking down which snack foods go well together while watching Alcatraz. I also love it when Shorthouse asks a question or makes a comment and Garret simply replies "Yes."
