Err.. whats up with Eddie Belfour? He looks like a scrub.

And Dougie's suit is too small for him. LOL

With the star power the likes of Stamkos et al should TB be waking up one morning and think lets play a 1-3-1. TB has a lot of top end talent. Every one shapes their team each summer, and that includes TB. I would have thought they were in an ideal situation to play a fast attacking game....just like Vcr does. What's good for one is good fro all.

It seems to me like there's different rules being applied here. TB has made it's choice and it suck IMO, Vcr made it's choice and I like it. But both had the same opportunity.

Tampa has an absolutely terrible blue line that lacks mobility and puck moving ability. They would get absolutely slaughtered if they tried to play a puck possession system like the Canucks.

They play the 1-3-1 because it de-emphasizes 1 on 1 defensive transition plays, where their slow footed group would be exposed.

Their high end forward talent thrives on the power play and by counter attacking off neutral zone turn overs.

Their big, under skilled, defenseman don't have to defend much in transition and instead can collapse to the net and battle in the trenches.

Their system works for their team, it would be terrible for our team.

there are worse than this bunch

Pavel Kubina
Eric Brewer
Mattias Ohlund
Victor Hedman
Brett Clark
Marc-Andre Bergeron
Matthew Gilroy
Bruno Gervais

Hedman, Kubina, Brewer and Bergeron are all offensive D, Brett Clarkes a shut down man and I
m not sure about the other two. I know Ohlund and Hedman are injured they no worse or no better than most teams, hamdle it with your team depth...that's why you have a farm team....Hey maybe they'd ike Ballard...even he could manage to be the sweeper at the back :D

Any way apparently ( CBC ) the subject is going to get a lot of attention in the next GM meeting which is apparently coming shortly. Up most of the GM apparently are pretty upset to TB wheel that kind of game into their building. Can you imagine paying BIG BUICKS and then being forced to watch that. They bring that into Vcr and I'll be booing along with a lot of other patrons
cheers

Like whom?

Hedman is a good young player but Ohlund and kubina are well past their prime.

Brewer was a second pairing guy on a mediocre Blues team and he's been on Tampas first pairing since day 1.

Bergeron is so bad in his own zone that he didn't get a contract and spent part of the year in the AHL last year. One of the best point players in the game but almost unplayable at even strength. This year he's playing almost 20 min a night.

That probably tells you all you need to know about the over all quality of Tampa blue line.

They would get killed without trapping.

Mr Yzermann must like them. Come on they're no better or worse than most teams. It's easy to be gratuitous and condem all to "well they're past it" but it doesn't carry much weight. They're defesnmen who have proved they can play, 34 & 35 respectively (there's older D I'm sure, and Bergeron might be a lot of things ( which might well be true ) but he's tied with Edler for most pts for a D in the entire league except he's a +5 and Edler is a -1.

Just out of interest would you pay $100 to watch that ? or ...
cheers

Anyone see Lucic run over Miller last night? similar to Odjick on Hasek. I hate the Bruins but at the same time, I laughed

I was thinking now if it were only the Leafs goalie...maybe they'd (eatern media ) get the idea of what the Bruins are about. Buffalo looked like the Canucks no response. I bet Luo's hoping Bitz is ready for our Bruins/Canucks match LOL

I have no idea what to expect from Bitz. He's missed a lot of hockey and he's joining a new team mid season. I believe his last team was also Florida so there's another guy the coaching staff will have to re-program.

I bet Bitz is hoping he isn't ready for that game. While the hype will probably guarantee a morning snoozer, the only response we can hope for is scoring on the PP.

We could continue debating, but I'm not really sure what your point is anymore.

What is your point?

Old time hockey. Big bad Bruins. I love it.

In a playoff situation, 2 minutes for almost knocking Miller the f*ck out?

I'll buy that for a dollar.

I'd hope AV would start our Boston born and raised goalie.
